  • Android head unit... Check it out.

Innotrends doesn't have a great reputation for quality.
And $999 is pretty pricey for for an Android device running Gingerbread, even if it interfaces w/ a CD drive and OBD2 reader.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I've emailed them a few times about this unit and they are very fast to respond. Guessing they wanted pre-orders (I think that time period is up). Anyway here's what I've seen so far:

      1. They have their own media playback app
      2. It does not come with any form of navigation
      3. No built in WiFi - they sell a dongle though
      4. Built in GPS receiver
      5. Built in radio tuner

I started to look for navigation applications to test out on my tablet. I downloaded a few and wasn't really happy with any of them. My tablet is only a WiFi model (HTC Flyer) and the GPS receiver seems a bit flakey on the tablet. But, it seems that most of the Android navigation apps are intended to be connected to the internet to facilitate them doing things. In offline mode the search was bad and routing wasn't calculated very easily.

I only tested Sygic and NavFree.

So, at $1000 and it doesn't even come with navigation is a tough pill to swallow. I give them credit for allowing the user to install whatever navigation app they want, but I'd expect at that price point to at least come with something pre-configured so you can install and run out of the box.

These are all over ebay with removeable tablet and some are made specifically for a certain vehicle.
