Well, that's funny. I wanted to switch back to explorer as shell and when the os resumed from hibernation there was no pop on the speakers. Can someone explain this to me ? I didn't change ANYTHING. No wiring, no settings, nothing. Well, it's gone and I'm happy now. Sad thing is that I don't know what fixed the problem, and that annoys me.
The PC is directly connected to the AMP (as before when it was still under the passenger seat and working correctly.
Thanks to you for trying to help.

I got this problem and HATE it ...it is the only thing holding my system back as appearing to be "home made"
..has anyone found a relitivly easy fix for this ?
PS I got my speakers all wired directly to my amp - with no HU![]()

I've got the same problem and would like to see this fixed.
I get the speaker pop/thump in the following situations :
1) Selecting and starting a song (Play)
2) Skipping a song (Next/Previous)
When songs play continuously i do not get (or do not notice) a speaker pop between songs.
My mobo is connected via line out to the line in of the headunit. The headunit is in turn connected via preouts to the amp.
I've got some other frontends on my CarPC. I'll test with these a.s.a.p. (am at work at the moment) and will let you know if this problem is, at least for me, frodoplayer related.
Just thought i would update as some people, including me, still have this problem. I tested with mediacar, mobile media center, mediaengine and frodoplayer. Strange thing is i only get the pops when playing music in Frodoplayer. All the other programs seem to be fine. Haven't found a way to fix this yet. Maybe someone else?
There ain't no need to cry. Time's up. It's time to die....
I think I know what it is. I think I have an option to turn off "click sounds"
Look for that.

My next generation Front End is right on schedule.
It will be done sometime in the next generation.
I'm a lesbian too.
I am for hire!
I allready have this option off. So that does not seem to be the, or at least my, problem. I'll keep looking to fix this problem. If i find something i'll let you know. Thanks for the help so far.Originally Posted by frodobaggins

your problem and mine are unrelated - once my PC is all booted and fuctioning everything is fine - i have NO pops switching tracks winthin windows.Originally Posted by Trazer
MY Problem is that when Windows takes control on my souncard during boot I get a large *POP* ...scares the crap out my girl everytime ...ima killer her, but thats a different story.
anyway ...I have NO HU and my speakers are directly wired to the AMP then from the AMP to my sound card.
I have been thinking about putting my AMPS on a switch that way I can flick them on once the PC boots - but im afraid that the only difference that I will get is that the AMPS will pop THEN (when I flick the switch)

SuzukiAero, I have the exact same carputer setup as you with an external amp and mine only pops when my sound car is initialized. I am going to try a switch but I don't think it will work.
