Skin making FAQ?

I may have completely missed it, but I have not been able to find a FAQ section on making your own skin, in other words, what files need to be changed, what does what, etc... If I have completely missed said FAQ, can someone point me in the right direction?

If there is no such FAQ, can anyone give a few pointers?

Just my lazyness talking here but I tried the url in the write up for Frodoskinner and its dead, did some searching and came up with nada. Is it still available and does it work with the current version
