    sorry, I ment timedate=1 change that to 0.. I've used that many different things in the coding, and re-wrote it that many times I loose track of what everythings called. Yeah change that and it will make the map full size from top to bottom. Will get the speedo, eta / etr and number of sats working this week, and I will also clean afew other bits that keep niggling me.

    It really looks like one of the best screens I've seen for GPS. Everything's big and readable and it includes all the information you could possibly want without taking up too much map area.

    First of all, its VERY fast, what is more then appreciated. Its lightning fast!
    Secondly, its interface still not very customisable and keyboard/remote-aware what I was hoping for
    Thirdly, bug report: slicking "next" button in main menu causes entire screen to redraw (which is weird), while pressing "back" button only redraws menu window (which is righ I believe). Otherwise, no bugs... hmmm... thats strange.

    ok, got a few things sorted on it now.. been thinking about making it fully skinable, doing this you will loose the option of resizing, but you will be able to place everything you want where you want it and use what ever pic's you want. For the moment I'm working on getting the speed and sats working, this needs a rewrite of the gps com port page so be a couple of days. The skins will have two jpg's for now. one day and one night, this will then enable you to tie in the gps to look the same as your dash/car/skin already in use.

    WOW, This is great. Keep up the good work.

    Has anyone else tried to embed this into Centrafuse. Mine won't move, i.e., no screen updates. This was a problem with Map Monkey also until Ninja Monkey wrote a loader program for it.

    Will this work with the new Road Runner?? ... hmmm .. guess I will try it and see.

    Not tried Road Runner yet. But if its based round mediacar, then It should. When setting it up for mediacar, either enter the correct screensize in settings.ini or change the state=2 which will maximize FreeDrive. Let me know if it works.. I had a break from coding for a few days, had stuff to do. Hopefull will get back to it next week with a expected release of 0.3 beta soon.

    0.3 Beta Releaase to include ;
    - working speedo (depending on type of gps used)
    - working number of sats (depending on type of gps used)
    - improved address display bar (shows house numbers)
    - change colour values in the skin.ini to HEX values (better for skinners)
    - added config menu for settings.ini (touchscreen friendly)

    once all this is done, and I'm happy with all the coding there will be a 0.4beta, where It will just be a general tidy up, and getting rid of any unused code. Most likely a choice for skinning. :-) Got a few ideas stil to try..

    I have actually tried it.. it sorta works.. the problem I get is something I used to get with Map Monkey: When opening "sub-windows" (Options Menu, Enter address etc) those windows get "sent behind" because Road Runner keeps trying to set the main "FreeDrive" window on display (and because the menu window is not "attached" to the main window, it doesn't get pushed forward with it..) I'll try to make a work around for this.. but it'd be nice to have those windows with propper "parenting"...

    FreeDrive is looking great! Thanks for your work

    EDIT: After a quick tweak, it enbbeds and works great. The only problem I have now is when sending WM_CLOSE to the window (to close it), it closes from the screen, but stays in memory.. So must close from FreeDrive's menu.

    The current version is 0.31, I am looking at the close command, would the wm_destory command not work ? I am rewriting freeedrive at the mo on how it uses forms and this will solve the problem. I would expect a release in a few days with the bugs highlighted so far ironed out.
