Release - FreeDrive 0.4 beta (D3 Frontend)

Ok, I tried it. Hopefully I didn't to anyhing wrong. However, it doesn't work correctly.

I setup the INIs as you described (if I didn't forget something) and verified the paths multiple times.

When I doubleclick the FDWrapper.exe a window opens and FreeDrive appears in it. So this is working fine.

However, when I want to start from within FrodoPlayer it doesn't work. I click on the GPS-Button, the HIDE-bar at the top appears and the rest of the screen stays black.

FreeDrive and the Wrapper are located in "C:\Programme\Other\FreeDrive"

I chose "Destinator 3 (Ninja Monkey)" and verified that "Use External GPS Application" is unchecked

Ok, I waited quite some time. In fact I checked back if it loaded after I took a shower

Still nothing. I know that it takes a moment when I directly start FDWrapper.exe. But in FrodoPlayer nothing appears. I'm testing on my Desktop PC. But the MapMonkey-Frontend embeds fine with its launcher so I think my system is running correctly.

Here a screenshot. I made the taskbar appear by pressing the Windows-Key (of course the Windows bar is visible on my desktop PC)

very off topic, I know but how do you guys make these nice screen prints?
Is that somethhing window offers somewhere?

I found out why it didn't work. I played with the settings.ini of FreeDrive and changed "runbefore=0" to "runbefore=1".
I don't understand what this setting is for, but hey...it works now

EDIT: I simply push PrintScreen on the keyboard. The picture is then in the clipboard. You may now paste this picture in whatever graphic program you work.

But I wonder why you have "runbefore=1" in your settings and in mine it was "runbefore=0". Still curious to know what this setting is for.

sorry for not replying.. been busy working :-( that setting isnt used as yet, its going to be for setting up your gps, maps etc.. and maybe giving you a brief instructions on how to use freedrive.. changing skins etc..

Thanks Frodo for doing a wrapper, I havent tried it yet, but will package it up into the next install version if thats ok..

As for the birdview and other bits.. expect these in a few days. I wanted to release this version, then fix any errors that appear and add afew other things. version 0.41 will include birds eye view / hide mouse / sound on-off and a few other bits :-)

Please let me know of any bugs, or things you think need improving. I myself arnt happy with it when you enter a house number. I dont think its very clear on how I've done it.. So will be changing this.
