Yeh! So you could drive to all the McDonalds in your area

2. ....not my first idea but.....

3. ## Auto Zoom

What about adding a feature where the map zoom is a function of the speed. So the faster you go, the more zoomed out the map is and the slower you go... (you guessed it!) the more zoomed in the map is.

I find when on a motorway, travelling at a very legal 70mph, I want to look at the junctions a few miles ahead. Where as when I'm trying to find the next turn to someone's house, traveliing at 20mph, I want to look at the junctions a few hundred metres ahead.

This function doesn't have to be a linear one such that the map is constantly refreshing the zoom as your speed fluctuates a few mph, rather there are thresholds such that:

0 - 20mph --> Zoom = 5x %
20 - 40mph --> Zoom = 4x %
40 - 60mph --> Zoom = 3x %
60 - 80mph --> Zoom = 2x %
80mph + --> Zoom = x %

Also, the function will only change the zoom once the speed remains in a certain threshold for a certain amount of time.

Anyone else think this would be useful?
As I'm typing this I'm just questioning whether this function is already built into Destinator?! If so, forget all of the above! (MyCarPC has only made it into the car for a week or so before it ran into problems, hence my hazzy memory of Destinators functionality!)

4. unsure if this is included in D3 or not. But It would be easy to do. The zoom function is already working, so its just a case of adding a few lines really. I would do it so it updates every second on the current speed. I would stick a ini file in so you can set what zoom levels you want, maybe a zoom level 1 to 10 or something to make it simpler to work with. Let me have a think and a play

great idea... I have found myself sometimes also having to mess with the screen to see whats up ahead.

There is a function called Auto-zoom, which is already on there, I will have to see if this already does something like this. I havent got a car with a pc installed that I'm using at the moment.. so that doesnt help lol

COMsend? WTF is that??

9. Its the same as what RoadRunner uses, have a look in his or mine sdk which is attached to FreeDrive,If you check the release 0.52 thread, you will see a more upto date version, which requests info from freedrive and displays them as labels. I will be adding a few more commands over the next few days.. shouild make it very easy to use.

cheers
