RELEASE FreeDrive 0.5 beta

I have 1 little request :p

Can you please add a registry key upon install to allow any software to autodetect freedrive installation ? This will be good to remove 1 required option in our frontends ;)
Actually i can detect freedrive's folder using uninstall registry key, but this key is version related, so, cant "autodetect" freedrive.

Next to this, i have to say that i have tested this version and.. THIS ROCKS. :D

yeah can do this no probs.. well I say no probs, but I aint got a clue how to do it.. I assume its added when its installed.. I can script in the installer i'm using but would prefer to be helped on this one, as I dont like messing with the reg. I have had a quick look and the I assume would be the command I used

Registry.CreateKey (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, "Software\\My Application");

could you give me some pointers on what should be the correct context

Is the actual menu skinnable?

I've got my skin 80% done but id like to change the buttons in the actual menu if thats possible?

My skins nothing great it's just so freedrive looks like apart of NMC ;)

EDIT:I just noticed that FD crashes when i try to route to address :confused:

i click the address button and the address window loads up but the textbox isn't there and i get the error:

Runtime Error "35600"
Index Out of Bounds

Also where is the POI list?

Have you downloaded the full 0.5 version ? also make sure you have a map set in your settings. The poi is on the second menu. To answer your question, yes its fully skinable, you dont even need the menu button on if you dont want, you can turn on the touchmenu. This will then make the menu appear when you tap the map.

Yeah the maps set i can use the actual frontend to do stuff and it works fine but when i try to route the page that loads up for it doesn't work.

Nope not there i clicked next still not there.

i've tried both skins in the 0.5 version

in the first menu i get:
Address
Home
Fav
Night View
3d view
histroy
cancel route
birds eye view
Next

on the second menu i have:
Switch map
shortest/quickest route
settings
trip planner
about
auto zoom
exit
save position
back

as you can see both menu's have 9 icons so i can't see the POI icon???

I should have a preview of the skin soon-ish :)

Did you download the full installer (so that you got the updated skins) or just the EXE-file ?

Let me check the installer, it might not be set to write over previous versions.. Delete the FreeDrive folder and install it again. I will amend the installer on the next version

update :- yep just checked the installer out. I have now set it to overwrite.

Sorry about that :-) So if you just delete your present copy of FD then install again you will be fine

Im doing some great progress on the NMC skin might have a pic to show in 30mins but probably not lol

Can you skin the scroll back on the side?

yeah although this bar is part of the D3 SDK, have a look in the folder below

C:\DestinatorApps\Destinator\Common\Interface\Visu al\All

This holds some pics and stuff that D3 uses. Now open up Destinator.bmp in photoshop or whatever you use, You will see the edited scroll bars on the left, just change these to whatever you want.. now if you want to do complete new ones, then you going just extand the bmp's height and stick em underneth. If you do this, you will then need to tell D3 what you have done, so you need to edit the Destiniator.ini file in the same folder.. have a search for the following lines

::P,SLIDER,100,34,48,90,1,1
::P,BAR_SLIDER,142,48,48,48,0,0
::P,ZOOM_IN,1,47,48,48,0,0
::P,ZOOM_OUT,50,47,48,48,0,0

These are in pixels again.. so you have the slider, bar (background) zoomin and zoomout buttons :-)
