    [0.80 UPDATE]

I was going to do other things for the next release, but since i'm still having problems with the routing code, and D3 not doing what its told. I have relented and decided to use D3's Address Dialog after all.

I will be scrapping the osk button, as most peeps that use this will want a osk anyway, so it will be always on.

All skins will need to be altered to suit.. but only a line or two mayby.. will post about this one the final design is done.

Heres a pic of a working version.. just need to do a select by postcode / city / street menu now.. and clean up a bug or two i've found.

    Quick question mate:

I used the latest release today in the car and approaching a camera repeated the Warning Camera at 40 four times but only said the actual speed the last time. Is this right or is it a bug?

CDR, I know I must be your bringer of nightmares, but would it be possible to keep the OSK button? Or can you test it on 800x480 just to make sure? I had problems with mapmonkey when the osk wouldnt go away at that resolution, I only saw one or 2 lines of streets... not enough really

(I think it becomes a problem when you have a rr skin for example around fd... Then if you are unsure of a street spelling you can at least type, turn osk off, check, etc)

Did 600 miles this weekend to Edinburgh and back etc, lady rapping speedcam warnings quickly wore off it's novelty value.

Also when you've completed a route, or if you cancel a route, the destination still shows up in the 'location' panel.

Also need a 5-sec delay before reopening GPS port on resume from hibernate

Lastly, could do with a facility to edit the speedcam trigger speeds (say speed+10% for example). Would make lady rapper or bleep less frequent and less intrusive etc.

Any other problems were down to the ****e maps - other than that very pleased

    CDR,

DO you have a rough timeline for the new address list and OSK?

I've dismantled my carpc at the weekend with the plan to put 0.70 on as the main GPS tool, but I'm gonna wait for the new screens you showed, looks nice.

I was a big fan of your original address list it was the main reason I move from MM. I still think the original one is great. Any chance you can have both and we can choose which one to use in the settings file?

ruairi, there wont be much difference in looks between the old address list and the new one... although he is pulling from D3, it still is skinnable, uses his osk, etc...

    right cdr?

    Hey CDR

Sorry for not reporting on the new 0.70 version. I can confirm that the OSK bug has been exterminated. Everything is fine in this version. Since this has been finished let’s go on to the next requests

    1. Can the POI screen be made skinnable.
    2. Is their anyway to make the OSK behave like a normal keyboard were you can switch between English and Non-english character sets with one keystroke. So when you press “Ctrl-shift” you can type in English characters. The same keypress “Ctrl-shift will permit you to type in Greek characters.
The road is long but we are getting there.

hi m8, i'm busy at the mo, changing the address dialog. Nearly there now, just a couple of days. I dont think the POI page to be skinnable, but I might be able to create my own. As for the keyboard. how many extra keys are you after ?

might the POI screen be made skinnable in the same fashion as the new address dialog you are doing? They are kind of similar in D3... although, if you make it your own it might be even nicer! More flexibility, the D3 one is kinda screwy in terms of finding say a restaurant but not necessarily the closest...
