Has anyone tried that POIEdit program, its downloads millions of POI's for anything you might want on the map, and syncs them when online for updates. IIRC it was from www.gpspassion.com but i might be wrong, just had HD failure and start from scratch

    First release

I still have to work a lot on it, but I don't have time now... So!

I decided to release it even if it's not completed, so I can improve it according to your suggestions, so please try it! For the moment it's very simple

    The file is here: http://www.riccardogarofano.com/GetF...0Converter.zip

The problem is that standard Destinator Poi are in a proprietary format (.poi), so I couldn't work on it. For the moment, you can convert TomTom ov2 files to Destinator .DAT, and use them as "favorites".

Furthermore, for the moment with MapMonkey you can use extra poi from the favorites menu. However, in this way MM doesn't show near poi first, as happens for standard POI; this result in an HEAVY listing of all poi of a category on the map. So I implemented the possibility of "cutting" Poi outside a region on the map (specifyng lat/long boundaries).
However we have to solve this problem in an elegant manner, please suggest something!

FreeDrive has its own menu for favorites, so you can't use poi now. However, I'm sure CdrSkull will implement a wonderful system for POI management!!!
It would be very nice if FreeDrive can support a system similar to TomTom, that works very well. The first priority is, in my opinion, the possibility to search for "near" Poi.

Edit: This program is written in c#, so you need .net framework.

Hello Garo, you made a great job !

Only a little PB, Poiconverter.exe already exist. Your one is Poi Converter.exe. This can make confusion. Another Name "OV2 to Destinator" ?

Earlier my soluce was : Get OV2, transform in CSV with Poiconverter, change column place with EXcel, Transform ; in , with notepad, use destinator Console and finally copy the file in favorites.

Now 5 seconds and it works

Can i give your link to the french forum ?

    Thanks for reply.

Are you french? I'm italian, we are near

However yes, you can, but it may be better if you wait until a "final" release... For the moment just try it and give me suggestion and bug report...

Did you use it with MM or with Freedrive?

    Bye!

I used it with MMonkey because Freedrive does not offer acces to settings.

When done, i use Freedrive in car for it's simplicity but i am waiting for a Sirf version for performance.

If you go in France you can download a list of Automatic radars every monday on this site : http://www.alertegps.com/Download.asp?a=ar&s=&f=tomtom

I edited my precedent reply after yours. Any idea about another Name ?

Just a question: can you use Destinator Console if you don't have a PDA? How?

    Tnx

    Select install.exe in : C:\DestinatorApps\Console

Then click on the Hungary map in Windows "Cartes complètes" (French Install)

==>activate Menu icons and then choose "Importateur Favoris" (last in the right)
