This one does loads including Tpeg / Weather / Trains... the main php page does a lot of the google earth coding and display while the Java scripts collects the data.
May be of some use at least as a live web page but I was thinking there may be some thing you guys ( gobby / CDR ) can use... may be even borrow from the authour ?

I've found a xml from BBC that updates via a feed from the Highways agency. Here's the URL.

Can someone convert this to a .kmz? The other feed I have found is

I have a contact name here of their comercial directer person who I am told is best placed to look at how to provide the data etc...
I mentioned that this is a FREE project which is community driven - ie we just want access rather than py for their software - again this is some thing that needs discussing with this person.
The good news is that they are about to launch a .net version how ever the person I spoke to was unsure as to if this included an SDK.
