    Arrow FreeDrive Goes open source...

    Due to me not having any spare time of late.. I decided to release the FD source. Goto the FD site and details are there...

    Thanks

    If you guys pm me the codes changes on the FD website I will attempt to keep together the official version as before so as to avoid loads of 'mini' versions appearing.

    it'd be cool if someone would start a csv or subversion project for this. I havent seen one on this site yet.

    I think this can only be good for FD

    Looks like it might be time to get learning some VB

    Not done any programming for about 5 years, and then it was VBA doing databases, automating some of the daily design calc we have to do, & an estimating program design for work. So to say I'm rusty is an understatement

    @CDR :
    I hope your opensource code has plenty of remarks in it to make it easier for us noobie programmers to pick it up!

    I was part of the original development team, although only 0.9 onwards I know the code fairly well and know how the various parts work, I also have always kept Freedrive in the style everyone is used to. I am more than willing to manage the official releases exactly the way Guino does for RoadRunner otherwise things are going to get silly and there be loads of different versions with different features.

    If you aren't happy with that then fine and I will step back.

    Maybe just keep an official FD site, and have updates/mods posted to you, and then add them to the official release. Whilst still allowing users to add/modify there own copies.
