480MB + 32MB (video memory) = 512MB
I finally got a chance to do this fix on my carPC but it's still not working. GPS will not load up and I sit with just the background image.
I also noticed that when I play music the song starts for a second and then restarts. Sort of like a blip. The track forward arrow causes it to skip a track. On the opening screen, none of the icons show up just the button titles.
Could my issues be hardware related?
Also, when I close freeICE, I get a windows popup say Freecar has encountered a problem .
AppNameL freeice.exe AppVer:1.5.0.0 ModName:unknown
ModVer:0.0.0.0 Offset:030fb442
I know I probably need more memory but I can't find my 1gb stick of DDR.
I am running the following:
VIA Nehemiah 1.00 GHz 480MB
80GB SATA 2.5" HDD
Not sure why it reports as 480 when I have a 512 stick in there.
Any help is much appreciated. Your frontend works smoothly on my laptop and I want it in my car too.

thanks. any help on my other issues?
Dunno if it is hardware so much as OS or driver related. Easiest would be to make sure you have the latest stable drivers and latest flash version. If you've still got problems then, try a clean OS install and see if your problems still come up.
I love this front end simple easy and not to demanding on processor speed . Keep up the good work and take it slow i rather wait than have bugs .
It is a fresh install of XP pro sp2. same if not similar setup as on my laptop. The only thing I might not have updated were the flash drivers. To check, I even took the exact same install files from the laptop and tried it and it didn't make a difference.
Only major issue is the lack of integrated GPS and the music blip that restarts the track after 1 second of play. I've also noticed some blips during music play back. Totally random locations, or so it seems.
does it support HORM? (i.e. reloading playlist+current song+current position from a specified location upon resume from hibernation)
Hi CdR, Love freeice and I've been using it since the first release and I must say that it's more stable then RR in some way so I have been using it instead lately!
I have a couple of questions tough!
One of the thins i miss the most from RR is the ability to set the clock from the GPS-Time, for some reason my computer resets the time every restart so right now I'm starting up RR first, wait for it to set the correct time and then switch over to FreeIce. Anyway I was wondering if there was anyway you could add that option?
The second thing is FreeFone, I was using it with the Iphone skin for RR so I downloaded the standalone version, configured a path for it in the ini file and it seems to be working! Is there anyway to get FreeIce to pause the music and switch to the phone as in RR, and maybe also add signal and strength at the top like you have the gps indicators?
oh and just one small question, I love the radio skin and it's working great with my SILAB's stick, I know you was using the same radio before atleast so I'm just wondering if the radio part has support for TI, news etc since thats built into the stick... TI is the single most feature I miss the most since I switched over to my CarPC years ago since I spend a lot of time on the road!
Keep up the good work!

Your computer clock is restarting because your CMOS battery is dead. Look for a battery on the motherboard and replace that. Its a round cell, 3v (I believe) battery. Almost like a watch battery but a little bigger. It will fix the time restarting issue.
