just installed, loving it, this works no crashing so far, but i'll see what i can break.
suggestion: Volume maybe increase/decrease by 2 or 4 instead of 1? I remember the old version was similar.
Cool Feature, maybe for later:
Elise Media Center (old version, youtube'able) had this built in, that the visual was displayed in the background of menus and what-not. The only thing that reminded me of this was/is your current background. I know it may be cpu/PC intensive, pending vis chosen and pc specs. maybe an option or switch in settings.ini
no bugs so far, good work on the exit menu
EDIT: sorry i cant give more feedback on this release, i dont use the radio feature

on another note...
Alpha 4 is in coding now and I am looking at adding GPS embedding. Shouldn't take too long as I've already done a bit of coding on it ready :-) I've also been offered a loan of a DAB radio so I intend to do that once it arrives.
It's a shame I've lost the source to the original freeice as this would moved things on alot faster.. O well
I tried this out on my desktop PC ( 6 core amd cpu, 9800gt, 4gb 1333 ram to see how smooth it runs. Man so far so good this thing starts up immidiatly. I'm really wanting to use this as my front end when I start building my car PC. Just the only thing is I have a question, are you going to add Bluetooth / control over cell phones? That's one of the main features I'm looking for =]
