RELEASE - FreeICE v2 Alpha 6.1

.. update on what I've done on Alpha 6 so far..

Alpha 6 [Changelog]
- Added show taskbar if its hidden on minimise
- Added Error handling code on the port reader
- Added Hidemouse option in the settings.ini
- Improved the Random / shuffle code as it was causing major lag
- Fixed GPS Sats not reading below 4
- Fixed GPS program hiding itself when loosing focus

a few more bits to add yet. The DAB V5 is taking a little time and might not make it into alpha 6, I tried it at work but it keeps turning itself off for some reason so it's making coding quite difficult. However I think it might be down to being plugged in a front USB port and not being able to pull enough power from it. (things you think about whilst in bed.. !! ). I'm working away the next couple of days again so might not get much done.

After adding the media files types settings.ini they appear in the list, but when trying to run them in freeice they are not displayed ...

codecs are properly installed on the pc.

Do they play in windows media player ? If they don't play in there, then they wont play in FI.. think that's your first hurdle.

I don't know about .rmvb but I know that .flv doesn't play in any version of Windows Media Player. I think the best codecs to get for it is "vistacodecs" (it has a shark wearing sunglasses for it's logo). It's meant for Windows XP and Vista but you can still install it in Windows 7 as long as you right click on the installer and run it in compatibility mode for either XP or Vista and it works perfectly for me.

Been busy coding and Alpha 6 is full of little improvement / a settings screen and full iGo / D9 etc compatibility :-)

Release should be very soon, I've just got the settings screen to finish off and I'm ready... keep checking back

How about embedding external apps? Makes it easier for embedding 'plugins'

I extended the filelist with m3u and it can run streams too, so internet radio is supported. If i want to change the buffer settings i should change the mediaplayer settings?

Yes!, Yes!!......Internet radio.

Steve, maybe add this in the near future?

I listen to a lot of "Shoutcast" streams more then my Mp3 collection, so this would surely be a nice addin.

Yep.. I will have a look into this.. maybe if you have a folder that just contains the stream links. have you got a stream I can play with.

O yeah.. and release Alpha 6 should be in the next hour or two...
