Thread: FreeICE 2.0 beta 1 release - get it now

On first run....

When you first run FreeICE you will need to do a couple of things to get the benefit out of all the features...

1. Start FI up.. and either swipe to the right with your finger or click on the media icon to load the music player.
2. Click on the PRESS TO LOAD where the album art shows.. This will open the media browser.
3. Find your music folder and then open it up so all your albums are showing.. then PRESS and HOLD the music icon.. it will say path saved.
4. Click on the search icon (Magnifying glass) and then 'rebuild' This will then scan all the music folders and store them in a database. From now on the search / rates etc will work as they should.

From this browser you can load music / videos / internet radio and also create playlists :-)

A video will soon be uplaoded on this easy setup :-) There are loads of features that you can do within freeice... have a look on the FI website at the alpha 12 video for some ideas.

One question? What would I need, to have a working radio? Just a regular FM or possibly HD radio? Hope someone can chime in?

I just used my laptop which is a celeron 1.3. The actual recording software take more cpu usage than FI does .. so it's smoother when not recording. :-)

At the moment FI supports Silabs / ADS / CarTFT FM and Venice 5 DAB. I think someone is working on a HD Radio plugin for it.

very cool setup looks like sky's the limit.

Any idea what radio modules are available in the us? I wish Visteon would work...dang
