I cooked up some weather icons today. Let me know which other ones are needed.

There are 49 icons in this package. Obviously, I don't need 49 of them, because a lot of them are either identical or too close to tell the difference. These come from Yahoo's weather site, and each number has a corresponding weather event. I can design the weather skinning around your icons -- this would be more convenient for other skinners so they won't have to make 49 icons.Originally Posted by mercury7
Great work! Thanks!
It's a playlist that has a select list of parameters (eg. genre, artist, date added, etc) then creates a playlist off of those parameters. You'll most likely have to create an index of your mp3 first. It would be great to do it in XML. So say, you'll only want to listen to your recently added songs, just set the parameters like "last month, max 50 songs" or whatever.Originally Posted by oeri

That sounds like a really great idea. I'll keep that in mind.Originally Posted by chanman

This one sucked to skin.
I would have suggested using the WHOLE screen for the OSK!

With his excellent skinning setup, I'm pretty sure you will be able to! You must code 24/7 oeri, I'm so impressed!
One thing that kinda bothers me: I really think that using a database is the most efficient way to manage your music. Scanning through directories can be time consuming, and creating playlists for every music directory can be a pain. However, to keep this lightweight, creating playlists for every directory might be the best option. I'm just thinking a very lightweight SQL server could really benefit, especially in the making of "live playlists". That would make getting the info you wanted so easy through simple queries such as "SELECT artist, title, filename FROM mp3s WHERE date_added > '07-02-2006'" or whatever. You get the picture. I know this might require a large rewrite of your playlist code. Just something to think about. Thanks for all your hard work!
Edit: I think it's great that we've all seen a bunch of different front ends, have seen where some of come short of the features or stability that we have always wanted, and also got some great ideas from others as well, and now we are all able to collaborate our ideas on a very very actively developed front end! This is great!
CarPC install is starting to come along again...
I really like the idea of searching using parameters for like songs added in the last month, that would be awesome.Originally Posted by oeri

Even if it's not an SQL database, I can easily just use one file as my "database." The way it stands already, you won't have to create a playlist for every directory. I plan on implementing search features (by artist, album, title, etc.). Right now, you can make playlists with any song you want or you can add every song into one huge playlist.Originally Posted by Grayscale
I still really like the "add songs from the last 30 days idea." Maybe I'll be able to get that in before Friday night.
