For short, yes, I do use keyboard arrows without actual holding the keyboard![]()
I am hoping to use this frontend for my carpc and have no need for arrow key movement, but it should definitely be a consideration because of the huge range of inputs used by others

yeah, major hotkeys support would be awsome.... & mouse overs...

I just want to make sure that you will be supporting PNG images. BMP is old skool.![]()

I haven't found a way to implement PNG images with Visual Basic 6 -- there is no support for them. Unless I find a way, it's going to be bitmaps and jpegs.
transparency!!! if transparency could be supported..... that would alow for some really sick skins... don't know what the possibilities there are though...

Yeah, really. I've looked for code, but no luck so far. I've never actually messed with transparencies in Visual Basic.Originally Posted by turbocad6
have you tried the GDI+ API? I haven't used it myself but it looks like its able to load/save PNG with alpha transparancy.Originally Posted by oeri
Or another way is to use a grey scale bitmap that matches the oringal bitmap. White areas full color, black area transparent, shades of grey, you get the idea.
VB 2003 and 2005 have transparencies built in.
But for most CarPC systems, it will slow it down since the graphics card isn't that powerful.

I guess if transparencies will cause a significant performance hit, then it may not be a great thing afterall... but the skin possibilities would be awsome..
