I was gonna ask about specifying the device ID in the ini, I love the rearview support!

Uh oh, I was gonna import my entire library of music so I could test out the speed with tons of songs, but it gave me a runtime error 5, invalid procedure call or argument.

ps, what kind of crazy courses are you taking that requires you to spend $700 on books this semester?!!? Ever heard of half.com? =p Last semester I spent less than $250 and took 18 hrs...
CarPC install is starting to come along again...

Any suggestion for a capture device ? it's been a while since i check the capture video card/ usb capture. wish to get one simple and cheap for my rear camera.

For automatic activation in a front end i was thinking of using a cheap mouse, put a relay on the rear light, activating the right button clic on the mouse. Silly but simple.

PS : i'm also working on my FE.

Did it give you the error when it was building a file list or actually importing the songs? The ID3 class in the previous release was a little buggy, but those problems are fixed for the next release (and it's a lot faster, too).

I'm a pharmacy/computer science double major, taking a lot of science courses like organic chemistry, anatomy, C#, etc. 18 credits, plus 2 3-hour labs. Our bookstore robs us because we have to purchase things like laboratory manuals, which you can only buy bundled with new books.

I have a really old camera I bought back in the days of Windows 98, and there's one built into the top of my laptop LCD. I really can't offer you any suggestions.

That's possible. The reason I asked was because I didn't know how the car communicates with the computer to tell it that it's backing up.

Just downloaded to my desktop give it a shot. I get a Runtime error '380' Invalid property value when I double click the .exe. No splash screen, etc.

From what I hear it looks good, though!

    -Mark

Edit-- whoops, I'm stupid-- forgot to install the fonts first!
(BTW, I know it probably goes without saying for people who install lots of skins, etc. but you could remind folks to do that first in your instructions. Just a thought.)

Did you read the instructions in the install thread on his forum?

You know the one where you get the download from?

The one that has "YOU MUST INSTALL THE FONTS BEFORE RUNNING THE PROGRAM. " in big Red and Bold writing?

Yeah. I did mention how stupid I am, didn't I? Sorry.

I've played around with this for a few minutes (all I have on my lunch break) and I'm really quite impressed!

BTW-- If you're taking votes, I for one wouldn't mind a picture viewer but it's hardly a priority.

Freeway Alpha 4, Build 111 Released

One step closer to a beta!

    New features:
    - Ability to lock interface with a password
    - OGG tag handling
    - Fullscreen GPS support -- click GPS, then the visualization icon
    - Media library speed improvements for handling large playlists
    - Media library can list all songs by an artist, not just albums
    - Media library shows items alphabetized with an awesome shell sort routine
    - Media library can recognize compilation albums (same album title, different artists)
    - Media library only imports file extensions specified in INI
    - Added specification of device ID for camera in INI file
    - Much faster ID3 handling with bug fixes, which should clean up a lot of import errors
    - Enables Winamp equalizer on start
    - Various INI file options

    Bug fixes:
    - Fix crash when trying to remove "current playlist"
    - Improved album art support, especially to fix the strange bug that displayed Brokeback Mountain art for T.I.'s King album
    - OSK not displaying characters including and following equal sign (INI handling bug)
    - "Button 'menu 7' not found" message bug fix

If I can get some decent webhosting -- at least 200 MB with FTP and a decent downstream -- I'll host the source code.

Enjoy... and please, ask any questions and report all bugs here.

A few people have asked whether or not it is possible to queue songs on the fly. The answer is, of course, yes! Go into media and click the playlist icon (the play button with the headphones). Click on Current Playlist, then + ADD. The songs you select from the media library will be queued at the end of your playlist.

Well, everything works perfect apart from the dvd... Same problem =/

Am I the only one ???

EDIT: Ah, also i noticed a bug. Almost not worth mentioning but anyway; If you pause music, and start a nes/snes game the music is unpaused when the game is closed.
