Whats the best to setup up the music directories

When it comes to seting the music directory would like some advice on how to set the directory up on this front end whats the quickest and fastest way.

On my old setup using a different front end I setup up as follows.

Type of music eg: Dance R N B & Rap etc.
Name Of Album eg: Coldplay Oasis etc.
Split into cd 1 or cd 2 which contained the music files under track 1, 2 etc.

How you have your music directories set up is completely up to you. Freeway can find all the music files in all the subdirectories, so no matter how you have it laid out, it will work.

I left the setup up as I had before but when I go into search under albums some of them have name of albums plus the artist and some say artist / album is this a setting in Winamp as it seems the lists are all over not in any order.

In my last front I used order was better as it allowed to pick the type of music directory that I created, and then it displayed the directories I had created of the album name.

The ID3 tags of your songs are read when you import them from your library. If you have any slashes in your song names, that is due to your songs' tags. Freeway lists albums as "Artist - Album Title".

So on your adivce it would be best to set the folders up in the music directory as follows:

    Artist Name
    Album Name

then store the music files in CD 1 or Cd 2 directories depending how many cd's the albums has.

Thanks I just re-setting all the music files as alot of them didn't have the name of album or the artist when my friend burnt them to Cd, so have found a way of renaming both of these so Freeway can pick them up, long way to go as got alot of music stored on the pc.
