    Frodoplayer and Girder

Ive set up girder to use with frodoplayer and it almost works perfectly. Im using commands in Girder so that it only sends the keyboard strokes to Frodoplayer when Frodoplayer is in the foreground. This is done through the target feature in girder. The problem is when i run the video in full screen the foreground is not frodoplayer but some other window so i cant send the strokes. I cant use the target feature of girder to get the name of this window because when i Alt+Tab into girder to use the target feature the full screen mode automatically goes out of full screen.

Right now my other alternative is to instead of check if frodoplayer is in the foreground is just check if the window exists but thats not the best way.

Does anyone know the name of the window that WMP is using when it goes into full screen or dealt with this in another way? If i know the name i can just manually enter it and run it as another check to send commands to frodoplayer.

Other than that the player is so far working flawlessly in my setup.

    Leenas,

There's lots of discussion re: fullscreen on the Girder forum (ie http://www.girder.nl/phpBB2/viewtopi...ight=targeting). I think you'll not find as many Girder-ites here.

Also, I've been trying to figure out the best way to use a single IR remote keypad to send the same keys to different applications when they are in the foreground. It's not easy, but some people have been able to do it. For ex, the PLAY key starts an MP3 when Frodo is in foreground, but does a cursor-right when iGuidance is in the foreground. Complex!

Could you post your .gml file when you've finished? Maybe we could brainstorm. I've got IRMan and an IR remote for all MP3 functions working well. I can also switch between windows with my +/- keys.

When Vis is fullscreen try "WMPVisualization"
When Video is fullscreen try "WMPVideoWindow"

    Frodo,

It wouldn't help me but might Leenas. However, a Girder Plugin (http://www.girder.nl/plugins.php) would help a lot. From what I gather they're not too difficult to write. ....all it takes is time... . You might poll how many Girder/IRMan users there are here..

I just started using girder yesterday but this is what i did to send different commands to different apps when theyre in the foreground. All you do is in the Girder Action tab select "IsForeground" and on the name at the bottom put the command you want to perform if it is in the foreground and in the second name box put another command if its not in the foreground. Then these two sepereate commands either enable or disable the Folder that contains all the commands for that particular app. That way only one folder is getting all the command and the targets of that folder will be the app in your foreground.

I modeled it after the gml file i got from myhtpc.net for the ATI Remote Wonder which is my remote. Theyre tutorial on the girder.nl is pretty good too.

If you would like i can email it to you. Can i somehow post it to the site? People are more than welcome to use it. After what i read up yesterday Girder really is a sweet program.

I realised i could attach files. Here it is, just rename the extension "txt" to "gml". You can see what im talking about the isforeground.

It would be really great if there would be a frodoplayer plugin in girder that could be working within the frodoplayer - this way you could send commands to the frodoplayer (same as keystroke, but controlled by the frodoplayer) and also send info from frodoplayer to girder, for OSD or LCD displayer, as an example.

on another hand, you can always target and find the proper settings to send the keystrokes, and it usually does the trick for inputs. Its for the output that I still wonder how to hook FP to anything...

I've been looking into the output side, but the input side with girder is on my list.

Frodo, what about built-in irman support, rather than using Girder?

I've got some code if you need it.
