    Won't hibernate

Im testinh my system b4 it all going in the car,
im using a laptop and i was planing on having the laptop go into hibernation 1 min after the power was cut and it was running on the battteries.
this all works fine except when i am in frodoplayer, it wont hibernate.

    why is this?
can u force a hibernation regardless of whats being run?

What OS are you using ?

Hibernate seems to work for everyone else, but I'll look at it closer.

im using win xp with sp1

i will check out stand by in a few mins..
from memory when i had it set to "go to stand by 1 min
the the screen would turn off and the music would keep playing and when the next song came up it would turn the screen back on
but i will have another play with it.

    thanks

    yep im using 1.08

at first it didnt work on hibernate and on stand by
but with nothing playing the stand by tries to work then it said some error about "ati is preventing it from standby"
the ati thing is my display adapter so i reinstaled it and then it went into both stand by and hibernate but not when when anything was playing

when something was playing it wouldnt work..
i am using a vga-ntsc converter could this be doing anything to prevent it?
when i got time i will hook the laptop up to the net to scan for any driver updates..

I have the same problem with W2K Pro and WinAmp on my Toshiba Tecra laptop.

The system hibernates fine if nothing is running, or if any app other than WinAmp is running. But if WinAmp happens to be up, it won't hibernate at all. I set the priority of WinAmp to it's lowest setting (idle) within WinAmp's preferences. But still no joy.
