And also.. the ability to straight away copy files from a usb drive from a designated directory..

Lets say on the usb drive:
    e:\frodoplayer\songs\english\themes\ImperialMarch. mp3
    e:\frodoplayer\songs\english\Mood\AustinPowers.mp3
    e:\frodoplayer\songs\french\alizee\JAIM.mp3

it would copy to the computer (automatically):
    (preddesignated drive and default directory)\english\themes\ImperialMarch.mp3
    (preddesignated drive and default directory)\english\mood\AustinPowers.mp3
    (preddesignated drive and default directory)\french\alizee\JAIM.mp3

This might seem a bit far fetched, But I'd like to see a dockable bar for applets Some ideas for example would be a small applet that simply displays date/time or speed calculated from the attached GPS or an applet that displays system resources. If you could design applets to be docked in the main application that would be "tits".

    HI..
    i'm programmer..

I begin to do my own carpc software... but why reinvent the wheel
    FrodoPlayer is all I want..

btw.. great project !! I like it !

but there is some missing features.. (maybe not useful for everybody)
but can you consider to add possibility to let us modify the TextLabel behavior (on the main display)

I want to display my car speed (miles or km) .. (i'm getting data from my GPS.)
maybe you can have advanced options.. where I can use my file.dll and my function name (which return a string)
so you can call this function and display the result instend of calling your Volume % function....
many others possibilities.. We will be able to do some actions depends on the speed.. alert.. (the function in my dll will play the mp3 alert) etc..

also.. I want to display the % of my battery remaining power (depends on % .. I can stop a process.. like wardriving)

an option like "Display Plugins" ...
which can be dlls files in c++/vb/.Net
every people will be able to change the display behavior..

Do you plan to move to .Net FrameWork ??

    another thing:
I don't know if there is a way to do that.. but I want to add my own icon on the up/down bar.. there is free space .. like mappoint/calculator/Emulator... I don't want to use your launch module because it's need too many mouse click
and can I remove dvd player shortcut.. ??

    thanks
    Patrick

    sorry for my english..

    Screen Saver/Blanker

I was talking with a friend of mine today about the possibility of a police officer pulling up beside me and seeing my screen. Then I came up with a nifty idea. Use the screen saver feature in Windows to blank the screen. But the minimum amount of time for the screen to go blank is 1 minute. So how about build something into FrodoPlayer to blank the screen after 10 or 20 seconds?

To expand on that, using a full screen VIS would bypass that feature.

    Comments?

    I object to items 17 + 35 being gray

These are already functions of windows media player. They shouldn't be that hard to implelemt.. I don't really need the cross fading but i would like the eq and the ability to have no pause between tracks. I think this app should first focus on the media side before delving into the whole "display my speed, tell me when to fix my car... " And to the guy previous this... You have a power button on your lili.. are you really going to be touching the screen every 10 seconds for the screen saver not to kick in?? COme on maaaan.
My donation is on its way!

    Thanks for the donation

As for 17, I am still working on it.

As for 35, it IS NOT POSSIBLE.

    awwwww

ah well it's ok, i am running it through a head unit with built in eq anyway... Woulda been nice to have it built in to frodo though, if i ever switch off the head unit.. How well does the radio work in the car? I've looked into some stanalone eq programs but I've really not found anything worth mentioning.. There was this one overly simple program that does "preset" effects... Can't find the link now.. but the hell with that.. could just get a extigy or something. Keep up the good work.. I'm a moderate coder if you need any help with anything..

Why would I be touching my screen every 10 seconds? The issue with turning the screen off and back on is that it takes a couple seconds to initialize. I'm talking about a simple screen blanker. If you touch the screen and it instantly displays your window. No lag. You could even squeeze in a button on the main interface to turn that the feature on or off. I think it would make a nice addition to the software and it's flexibility. I bet it would be simple to code too.

My issues with the screen being lit up is only at night. Even with tinted windows my Lilliput screen is lit up like a christmas tree from the outside.

Well, in that case, here is what you do

You don't need frodo to do this for you.. He needs all the time he can get to get 1.9 out so I can wow all da ladies w/ my pimp system...

Make one of the buttons on the menu a external app, (look at the how to file, it will tell you how) make the button launch the following executable file:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\scrnsave.scr
Your root may not be c:\windows\ but if you kept your installation default it should be. This will black the screen out and as soon as you re-touch your screen, it will come back on. This is the screensaver program, you can also add a command line arguement like scrnsave.scr flyingwindows.ssv or something like that if you dont want just blank.
You threw me off with the "make it 10-20 seconds it will only do a minute" remark.. I thought you wanted it to be constantly coming on every 20 secs.. My bad.. Besides, dvd screens are illegal to be in the driver view.. buuuuuuut, no law about mp3 stereo touchscreens or gps systems!! all legal.

Again though.. Power button would be more effective I would think.. but, there you go.. Where there is a will, there is a way.. Keep that in mind about the eq frodo!!

Ok, glad to see that we're on the same page. Thanks for the suggestions. But I'm still interested to find out how to get the screen saver to activate sooner than one minute. A friend of mine says that he thinks there's a way to hack windows to allow it, but he doesn't know where he saw it.

The two features I would pay money for is the EQ, and simple cross-fader like Media Engine. It's nice to have the pleasant mix of the two tracks.

I installed the Vinyl Stylus Audio Driver for my EPIA board, and let me tell you that it is one buggy piece of crap. Especially the latest v550a. I wish they had a bug report page so that I could log some defects with them.
