Another feature that would be kind of cool is a Vehicle Maint Log. This would basically be a log of when you do Oil Changes, Brake Pads, Filters including the date, mileage, location, and cost. Kind of fits in with your MPG log.

Ability to sort by Track Number.

I'd love to see more of a directory based system kinda like Media Engine.

I'm gonna have to agree on that sorting of MP3's

I just went camping... 225 mile drive... and that was the thing
my 3 buds complained about the most... diggin thru the directory
listing using the small scroll buttons... having the search keyboard
keep popping up from missed scrolls... and the alphabetical sorting
of the mp3 files... they loved everything else.. as do I ....

but when the whining got too loud.. I loaded up media engine and
they fell in love with the large scroll buttons... and easy listings of
the mp3's in all their proper album directories.

And when I'm driving the vehicle... I would love to have those large scroll
buttons available in FrodoPlayer.

Also, we noticed that in any Artist Discography folder, it doesnt list the
subfolders when you pick the main one. You have to double click it
to get those albums folders inside to show, then select from there.

You revamp this User Interface for directory style listings, and I gotta say
this app is perfect

And some Skinning requests....

I think someone may have asked for this already... but I'll repeat....

Working on my skins... I've come across the need to have the types of lists
selectable... Instead of left/right arrows for (dir/album/video/cd).. give me
access to variables I can assign to buttons. That way I can just have
(Video)(mp3(directory))(mp3(all music))(cd) etc... selectable by buttons.

Also... give me variables like Track Name, Album Name, Album Art, etc that I
can use to really spice up my skin... I believe now, that stuff is locked to boxes
you've predefined. With those & transparent backgrounds, I could just place them anywhere!

what about a feature for wireless internet users. when their wireless card picks up a hotspot, it could have a small button with a color change, saying that their pc was connected to the internet.

MPG calculator sounds sweet.

maybe a clock mode, where after a certain amount of time, a huge digital or analog clock, fades in smoothly, and scrolls the song that is playing in the bottom.

just ideas

I don't know the difficulty of this request... but it would be cool...

I got internet on my carpc from my T616 using bluetooth...
using that have a daily weather/3 day forcast screen...

I'm sure there is other cool things you could grab from the web.. but I can't
think of them now....

My internet usage on cellphone isnt really cheap.. 4meg & then pay per kilobyte....
so having something that just loaded my weather would rock instead of me paying
bandwidth for ads and the mainpage of whatever weather site.

I got this idea from the weather they have implemented in XBMC for the xbox....

I've been looking at FrodoPlayer and I was wondering if there is already a way to have it startup on the Menu instead of starting up with the MP3 player first? If there isn't I would like to request that an option for which screen to startup with be available! I like all of the features in FP and I know I would use them all but it would be nice to be able to choose which screen the application will open with when launching FrodoPlayer.

FP is definitely the best car oriented media player ever developed! The free license makes it even more attractive.

A separate video player would be nice. As alik asked, a central menu with mp3/video divided into different sections. I'm sure many people with carputters have divx files as an alternative to DVD, so a separate button for the player is my suggestion. And if possible some sort of on the fly controls for video, so you dont have to double click to get out of fullscreen before you can pause the file or fast forward etc.

I think it would be great as well if the "All Music" and the other displays were sorted first by folder.. then by something like Track Number, Artist, Album, or Title (Selectable options).

This would be to aid those who have music sorted by folder, where the songs are not all by the same artist, or are compilations.. etc. It also just works really well IMO.. Winamp has a feature to sort by folder then by filename. (That would be great! but if track number could be worked in that would be great)
