what am i doing wrong?

I must be doing something wrong because everyone else would complain too!

- I cannot possibly navigate the Directory control with my finger tip. I can not scroll the list up/down nor can I select an entry in that list box. Without fingertip sized buttons I find this great if im in the office with a mouse, but not in the car.

- Whenever there are new files added it puts me back in the database build screen which takes ages to build, which is fine, but then I have to somehow work th tabs and select Main and Exit to get back to playing music. These again are not car-friendly.

I am sure I must be missing something because otherwise FP becomes a very nice desktop music player, but not usable in the car. The strength MC has is that everything is a fingertip sized button.

It depends on how its skinned, skin it to fit your fingers if you dont like it.

can you elaborate any? I am using the brushed aluminum skin at the moment.

also, the up/down arrows on the playlist use the graphics that Feb did, but for the directory, they are the regular win32 scrollbar graphics. is that a skin bug or a limitation.
isnt anyone else using brushed alum having the same problem?

It might be my fault for making the scroll button too small.

Go to the skin.ini and change the RAIL_HEIGHT= to 6 or 7 or 8 or whatever you like.

The directory mode is a windows native control. It cannot be skinned. I am looking for a solution. The other modes can be adjusted as Feb seaid above.

I have a suggestion then Frodo, last of the ring-bearers;

Why not have both the upper and lower lists not use the scroll bar at all, but have seperate buttons looked up to these controls

I did a mockup, and as you can see I have all the graphics skills of a banana slug, but hopefully you get the idea, and it solves the creation of an owner drawn list box.

I find quite easy to use the PhoneControl solution, the entire list is the scrollbar. If you click it selects one item, but if you old and drag on the right side of the list it scrolls thru the list, if you old and drag on the left side of the list it jumps one alphabet letter at a time ( witch is very useful when you have a few thousand entries

)
