I decided to start a new thread instead of hijacking Frodo's plea for XMPCR layout suggestions....
The XMPCR appears to have trouble coming out of hibernation. This is a shame because everything else (FP, RadioXtreme, and Routis) wakes up just fine. If I don't MANUALLY shut down XMPCR before going into hibernation, I have to unplug/replug the USB connection before it will start working again. Majoe PITA.
I found this over at XMFAN.com.
Can any of you software guys figure out a solution for this?It looks like hibernate closes the USB port.
The software does not know what to do and crashes.
So it looks like unless you run some sort of powerd hub.
It will not work when the computer goes into hibernation.

I heard this "feature" will be addressed in XP sp2 but who really knows.
I will probably go powered hub as a fix.
Hmmm...I'm not sure powered hub is going to work actually.
Basically, when the computer gets the signal to hibernate and the software is still running, it goes nutso.
Only solution is to plug/unplug it...similar to the usb gps problem.
If anyone has a solution to this problem it would be appreciated.
oh yeah, one more thing, Frodo I love your player. I'm using it now. I'm pretty excited to see that you're going to be adding xm internal support.
I'm using xtremepcr right now externally, its great but not made for touchscreens/carpcs at all.
Well I think my XM PCR comes in tomorrow. I will try it on my car's powered USB hub and see what happens. I'll post results in this thread.
I'll hobernate now with my test app and see what happens.

I had come to the conclusion writing my XMPC-Car applicaiton that the hibernation problem was an issue to do with the USB serial driver. No amount of port resetting, etc. would bring it back. Plus if your computer does not kill the power to the USB ports during hibernate (such as all mini ITX boards), the radio itself does not shut off and continues to output audio and consume a lot of power)
The real solution to this problem is an updated driver for the USB/serial converter in the XMPCR that is hibernate-aware.

Use this driver:
R9052151.zip
You must replace both the items in the picture.
You WILL need to reboot. Even if it doesn't ask.
This works for me with the stock software. YMMV.
