You can't remove the mini button but you can assign the XM button to an external app.
Then you just edit the skin.

frodo- could you make all tabs have an area that you can define a program for (like fm/xm, gps ext. app etc.) so editing ini files isn't necessary? (sorry for not posting in requests forum)

You can for XM, FM, GPS, & DVD in the settings menu.
The only thing you have to edit is the pictures.

I will eventually add for the apps buttons but the menu structure will
be changing so I have to think how it's going to be.

i was thinking for all blank spaces, and yes, picture editing is still necessary. Maybe it would be easier for skinners, and novices to seperate each part of the menu (each little gray spot). We could than make a collection of picture files for different external apps that people may have (rear veiw cam, games, emu {def not final fantasy }, etc.) They could than just replace a single file, instead of pasteing the picture and moving into place. Another option may be to use the same picture that is used for the file in windows (sometimes the .ico file i think???).

but than again you are reduing the menu, and may be way ahead of me .

i don't know how well i explained all that

I personally enjoy how the current external app drop down works. If we can improve it enough, we may be able to eliminate the other system (the exernal apps button on the menu).
