    Navigator 4

    Frodo

I'm still quite a MC freak as it does everything I want (destinator and music). But destinator 3 is not here yet and D2 is unusable within media car and I drive outside the maps all too often. (I feel like columbus sailing off the edge of the world).

So as an old infomap user, I took the plunge or upgraded to Navigator 4, it should be here soon. (this week). Could I send it to you to "play with" and see if you can embed it nicely into Frodplayer in any sensible way.

You might find that Frodo will need the Pro version and the ocx to enable him to embed it in to FP. (About 150 GBP)
Got Navigator 4 last week and loaded it up today on the Car PC. It is much improved but still not best suited for our use, but it does the job if you have the time to set destination before you go anywhere.
Voice & visual prompts are better, but without the pro version you cannot import your own pushpins (Speedcam database etc)
I have mine set up to run behind FP and have programmed the steering wheel control 'Mode' to Alt-Tab between the two programmes...
If frodo was willing to spend the time it might be worth a few of us clubbing together to purchase a copy of the pro version to send over the pond???
It would probably work fine as an embedded Sat Nav prog with the FP functionality...

I was wondering about the pro version and the SDK/API.

Well I don't mind upgrading to the pro version, just to get a decent nav system would be cool. Destinator 2 is driving me nuts, it tried to steer me through the closed gates of Regents park last night when all I wanted was to be on Baker street (cue the sax solo.... du de da du di di dah)

I'll see what "Directions" have to say about an upgrade to the pro version or even maybe releasing the SDK for the standard one.

Unfortunately it only covers Europe, it maybe no good for Frodo to monkey about with!

I'm reselling the Navigator products and would be willing to donate a copy of Pro to get it embedded into a front end. If anyone wants to get started using the earlier version (1.3.x) let me know.
