I know it would be a real pain in the *** but if you changed the names to 01/artist/album trackname.mp3 then when they are in alpabetical order they would be in proper track order. There may be an easier solution out there though.
Is there a way to play whole albums with the right tracklisting? It seems the database organizes alphabeticaly on either ID3 tag artist or album. But even in directory mode it displays all tracks alphabetically instead of in the right order.
My mp3's are like artist/album/01 trackname.mp3 AND they're all tagged with track nr's.
Am I missing something here?

Actually all my MP3s & APE files have the track number as the start of the filename yet FP still organizes them alphabetically. I assume FP sorts by ID3 tag names. I have requested that there be sort options...I have several hundred MP3s of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and I can't play them in order (very annoying).
I guess building a playlist would help.....
How? Do you have to do that for each album?Originally Posted by pip

It's on Frodo's "implementing right now" list, so I'll guess I'll wait with making playlists.

bump, did we figure this out?
Check under the Settings 2, there is an option to list by Tracknumber. That's what I do and all my albums are in order.Originally Posted by pip
Yea, I tagged all my MP3's like this:
Artist - Album - Track Number - Title
and FP sorts them correctly. Even if it does sort them alphabetically if you have them tagged like above they would sort correctly. 01 is before 02 etc...

It works! I forgot about the settings two playlist options tab. I just had to set the order to directory - track number and viola! it works. thanks all
