so i tested it out with your default skin and it still keeps doing it. The only thing that may be different is that i am using the digital S/PDIF port from my M10000. I don't know if that makes any difference i still have the problem. Do you have any other suggestions. I would like to controll the volume mainly with the touch screen (your software) but am forced (which isn't so bad) to use my surround sound control unit.

Try windows media player and see what happens.
I can guarantee it's not a bug in my program.
There is NO volume code in those functions.

Okay. I will try it at lunch today and post after lunch. The only difference i can see (besides the fact that frodoplayer rocks) is that the WMP does't map the volume change to the WAV. Thats the only time that i have a problem. When it is mapped to the master volume it doesn't change the volume at all.

Okay so let me get this straight.

You are playing a song, the volume is at X%.
You hit next. The volume goes to 100% ?

Okay... I tested it with WMP and it seems to be working correctly in WMP. When i skip songs the volume stays the same although i don't know what volume the slider is controlling (master or WAV)

Any other suggestions guru monkey man?

are you just using frodoplayer or do you have another program in the back?

I experienced the same problem with frodoplayer and Alturion.
In Aturion you have to set a volume level.. say i use 40%
when i play a song the volume get up to 40% even when i volume up/down.

I finally got it solved by installing another soundcard (SB live!) don't ask me why or how, but my problems are over..

uhhhhh..... any other help here? I am at a loss. I sware frodoplayer is bumping the volume to 100% whenever i select a new song by double clicking on it or skipping tracks. I understand that there is no code relating to volume in those functions but somthing is making it jump up to 100%. When i use Windows Media Player everything works as it should and also winamp.

Frodo I am not asking for an immediate answer but could you please look into this.

If anyone else out there has a Via EPIA m10000 and is using the S/PDIF port to an external Digital surorund processor and is running frodoplayer please let us know if you have this problem?

And why doesn't the master volume work to control S/PDIF?

    Arggggggg

    Thanks frodo

The S/PDIF port is outputting a datastream not analog signal. Thats why master volume does not work. There is no flag for parsing external volume level info either. For more info regarding S/PDIF read
    this.
What happens to you is quite strange. Have you tried to put the newest Vinyl audio drivers for your M10K? ( Link here )
You do have directx 9.0b, don't you?
