    why do pictures distort/lose res in frodoplayer

    I have a good setup in PS with my skin so far. The only thing is when I preview it all in frodoplayer everything is pixalted and has no where near the quality of what I was looking for. The skin I'm making is for the 800x600. Yes I turned my screen to 800x600 for testing. Is this just a limitation with frodoplayer or what can I do in PS to make the images CLEAR in frodoplayer?

    any suggestions to fix it? Should i increase the DPI of the picture? I have it at 90 pixels per inch and all of my pictures that I have imported are of super high quality.

    Hey.
    I have no idea how inches/DPI are related. The only thing you should care about is the resolution, which is measured in Pixels.

    I think you may be using "USE_ADVANCED_SCREEN_SETTINGS", so FrodoPlayer resized your skin, and that distortion you see is called "aliasing".

    Check out this part which Frodo wrote from Manual/howto.txt :

    How to turn on/off advanced screen resolution control/placement.
    As well as how to configure.

    The advanced settings are defined in "frodoplayer.ini"

    Under the [MAIN] tag

    USE_ADVANCED_SCREEN_SETTINGS=True

    Under the [ADVANCED] tag

    ADV_TOP=212
    ADV_LEFT=200
    ADV_WIDTH=1024
    ADV_HEIGHT=768

    All measurements HERE are in pixels.

    Try setting
    USE_ADVANCED_SCREEN_SETTINGS=False
    and see if the problem will be solved

    P.S. Frodo - some antialiasing algorithm when resizing the skins could be a nice feature to have...

    It is set to false. I guess I'll play around with it some more when I get home.

    If it is set to false, so you should have the same resolution in Windows and in the skin (e.g. 800x600 on both)

    If you are in photoshop, make the picture 800x600.
    Simple enough.
