Frodo, do you have any idea what it might be, or what I can do to do some more debugging? Thanks!
I finally installed frodoplayer and I am very impressed with this software. However, I am unable to play DVD's, and have tried everything mentioned in some of the other threads, including (re)registering the mswebdvd.dll, installed powerDVD, the stand alone player, ... PowerDVD has no issues playing the DVD on that same system, so I am thinking/hoping it's a software issue and not an OS issue. I am running XP with SP2, this is the error I get:
Doing some research on the error # seems to indicate it's a 'generic' MS error message, could be anything. I am also having problems playing video files, it doesn't seem to pick them up when I do a scan (just a .wmv file). When I go to the database, it also shows 0 entries, but if I do a rescan it does find all the audio files, and I have no problems playing these audio files. I am just mentioning these details in case they are all related (mabye the error is related to some sort of security issue in sp2?).
