I think that it would most of the time not be able to reach the gps since it's being used by the gps software and not always online meaning that the plug in would only work on it's own with an internet connection.
    it will do like this:

1.if GPS port can be found next
2.if gps data can have check time, close
3.else goto the intenet check time, close
    4.if none, close

the engine will work better after beta
now it works with my epson GPS

How about this, a set of timers, each with start/stop/pause/resume and in formats like dd:hh:mm:ss
    1) Perpetual timer: a timer that remembers elapsed time even if the carpc was off.
    2) Trip timer: it starts every time the program starts
    3) 2 custom timers, named by the user, could start/stop any time with the ability to resume after shutdown.
    4) 2 count down timers - which is basically something like "how long till my birth day
    5) any other timer you can think of

Man, that would be great, the stupid timer in my car would not count when it is off, sometime I like to know how long I have been out.

I guess it would be more useful if you could integrate a calendar, with a function for appointments and reminders?
