So what other options do we have if we cant use WMP's equalizer.

There has got to be some open source equalizer that can be ran as an application that maybe one of the talented programers can add skinnable functionality.

Those won't work well for us. They work by recording the sound, modifying it, and then playing it back. Pretty intensive.

Hmmm, so it isn't real time.... So how does the Winamp equalizer work? Does it record it and play it back or is it real time.

    Thanks for looking into this

Frodoplayer makes me happy the way it is and i don't need to have an equalizer. The only thing that would make me a happy man would be skinable functionality for the GPS embedded window. Other than that It does pretty much everything that i want it to besides some minor stuff that i will add in the feature requests when it becomes available.

    Cheers

Good luck, theyre an AOL company. Which probably explains why every version of 5 has had major security holes that keep cropping up.

winamps source code isnt avaliable, the controls in media car just change the eq in winamp, this isnt much use as frodoplayer is based on WMP not winamp.

i still maintain that it isnt that hard to include basic bass and treble controls, it just means adding another control in VB, ive got basic bass and treble controls in a VB program i made

Nullsoft was good! all the original developers of winamp have now left because of it being an AOL company

Sorry, but as an employee of REAL FREE radio, I have to laugh that you find the audio quality as crappy as I do, yet still pay to listen to it

I think you're all over-looking the obvious. Buy a REAL equalizer. Equalizers can be had fairly cheaply now, especially if you're only looking for basic control. Otherwise, you could use a head unit with an EQ built in. The computer doesn't have to do everything, you have amps to make it louder, it's no cheating to have an EQ to make it sound better.

Maybe the Windows Multimedia SDK can offer some assistance?

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...n32_faders.asp

States that we can control volume, treble, bass, and so forth throught the mixer control for windows...

If this is the case, it should override any other third party software settings.
