Hi Frodo, hope you had a good holiday.
I'm not sure if i asked this before but I searched and couldn't find the thread. Is it possible to implment an active playlist builder, like the "Add to Now Playing" feature in XP with WMP. It's my favourite feature on WMP by a long way, as it means you can just add songs to a queue as you go. If so I would happily contribute to the your development costs. It may be something you have already looked at, if so sorry for asking again.
Cheers
Ben

Maybe, but please explain exactly how it would work.

My next generation Front End is right on schedule.
It will be done sometime in the next generation.
I'm a lesbian too.
I am for hire!
I was hoping you weren't going to ask this. Not sure I've quite got it figured out.![]()
Here goes... It would need a button on the main app page which would toggle between the instant 'change to' method (i.e. what there is now) to an 'add to' method. This would get round the right click menu system, wmp uses, for touchscreens.
Any file selected would be added to a 'playlist' (not sure if it would work with the kind you use at the moment. If there were no mp3s in the list it would just start playing it straight away. Then as soon as one mp3 is finished it would just move on to the next. The playlist would function like a queue. There may have to be a screen to view the playlist as well.
Hope this helps.
Would be amazing if you could do this. I think a lot of people would like this function to. It would be great for road trips with friends, so they can create their own session/mix on the fly. I think it's the best thing about a large mp3 collection, the ability to listen to music and just think of pretty much any track you'd like to hear next and build up a list of it. It's like a giant jukebox.
Shouldn't you be relaxing on holiday![]()
p.s. I have another request but I'll wait until you've had a think about this one.
Cheers
Ben

I think what you're looking for is the playlist builder. Push menu, then playlist. Give that a shot
My description:
A random song is playing,
User double-clicks a song... it is queued to play next.
Any additional songs that are double-clicked are added to the queue
When the queue ends, a random song is played like normal.
There should be a button to switch between queue mode and normal mode.
Ranking right up there with this feature would be the jump feature. Keep the search just like it is, but when a song is select to play, frodoplayer goes back to all songs (or whatever directory was being looked at last).
Thanks!
yea, its annoying when you use a audio program that just sharply stops the current song and plays the one you have just selected... ya need to keep the flOw goin (have a 'queue mode') that way it plays teh rest of the current song, then goes to the queues.. then back to whatever mode you had it in previously.

@ Jstark - I don't think the current playlists work like active queue we want.

To be honest, This is how I expected FP to work before I ever used it , now the more I play with it the more I wish it kinda worked that way.
...... like the way WinAMP works.
click a song ..it starts playing .......click a song while song #1 is playing and it adds song #2 under song #1 and starts playing as song #1 ends.
Im not sure about the default skin , but out of the skins I use the Playlist builder kinds sux .... for 1 thing theres no way to pull up a onscreen keyboard to name your playlists; adding things are very cumbersome - it is just all around non functional to me
I rather use favorites
