Take 4 will have most paths configurable.
I, as well as a few others who will be using CF cards will be attaching a USB enclosed harddrive.
It works alright now. The songs appear on screen, if you choose to play it, it simply doesn't play if the drive is unplugged. If you unplug it while it is playing, it simply stops playing.
The problem is, when you plug it in after playing, it won't resume and it requires a restart of FP in order for it to work again.
Aside from this problem, I have a DB related request. I beleive it should be minor. Is it possible(at least as an option) to create the db file at the root of the share, as opposed to FP's program folder.
When a new drive is attached, you can check if any pre-configured shares are on that drive. If so, load them up.
This has two benefits.
1. Only songs that are available will display.
2. I can pick up my hard drive and plug it in another system running FP. No need to sync songs. I just have my drive with me. I could even take my drive into my buddy's car and listen to those songs there without any permanent side affects(ie songs appearing in his song list after I leave).
What do you think Frodo?

[H]4 Life
My next generation Front End is right on schedule.
It will be done sometime in the next generation.
I'm a lesbian too.
I am for hire!
Excellent. Will it allow for multiple paths?
For example, media on a local path, as well as media on another drive?
Say I were to add a seconds removable device, could it pick up both if I added drive E and F as music shares?
Do you know what I mean?
Also, with most paths configurable, does that mean the config/state file can be located in a defined place? This goes back to that other thread about installing FP on a read only drive.
