Question How to change voice volume within Frodoplayer?

    Hi Guys

Well my VanPC is fitted & "working"

Still a few little things I'd like to iron out with the installation…but that’s part of the fun.

BUT! I find that both Microsoft SAM…and the voice in Destinator 3 are both too loud.

I think I can sort out the Destinator 3 WAV levels by converting them to MP3…and using MP3Gain to decrease the volume…then convert them back to WAV..ther’s a thought…will Destinator 3 use MP3’s instead of WAV?

How do I lower Sam’s voice in Frodoplayer?

    Thanks

Got any better suggestions???? I haven't gotten into those details yet, but am not real fond of Sam either..... but he is the only one there so I use him.... The Microsoft site with voices didn't have anything that impressed me either.....

A Cylon voice would be cool, does that exist? Any cool suggestions?

That... or some other people use Neospeech. Look in the NaviVoice forum for other suggestions

It's just that as far as I know, you can't.

    Hi Frodobaggins...

Maybe you didn't mean to be an ***...maybe I picked you up wrong.

Sometimes email is difficult to pick up what someone means...they could be joking...they could be being nasty.

I have to say first off that...I HATE this forum with a passion…OK let me rephrase that…I like the forum…but hate the concept and layout.

I think mailing list would be much easier to keep a track of all these different topics…but that's a personal thing...

I just kinda snapped at you last night..because this is the third time I have asked a question...and you have answered with a three word reply…which did not really answer my question…or at least did not leave me with me asking more questions.

I know you must be a busy guy...keeping Frodoplayer going...and keeping an eye on these forums...

No reply would have been better though...

Or even…”Sorry volume level of Sam can’t be altered…but you can….”

You have a great piece of software…the best at present I think...in fact I have to go as far as say...”I LOVE IT!”

Is there a users guide somewhere that I haven't found?

I have already shown this software to friends…and a local computer shop owner that is now thinking about getting into Car PC’s after seeing your software…they were all blown away...but really...it is only a computer in a van...with a clever piece of software.

I have respect for you…but last night…after that reply…I did wonder why.

You must excel at what you do in order to write such a program…but you will have to remember that there are guys here on this forum that less equipped than you to open up a editor and write code.

    I can’t.

    In fact…I won’t

Why?...because I’m not even interested in this aspect. When I see “open up .ini in blah blah…and typey typey typey”…I switch off…and go to sleep.

I like building computer systems…nothing to it really….but I have never been interested in writing code.

I just want software to do what I want it to do….with buttons that will allow me to change the level of Microsoft Sam

I was asking a question about altering volumes AFTER looking at all the posts on this forum…and although I did see this question raised before…I could not come up with an answer that was definitive.

I'm also having problems understanding what the two volume controls are for in the Frodoplayer MISC...can't see what they do...other than ramp in the volume.

I do understand that us dum asses ask silly questions...but a little patience goes a long way

We all excel in our own areas…and I bet you there are one or two areas that I specialize in that I could leave you sitting in s$*t…but I think would at least try and refrain from being a smart *** about it.

Try and have a little patience for the little people

    I can’t say that I like Sam either…

    Peace and Jazz
