I finally got both screens to play video in WMP by changing some settings for the video card. It works in WMP but I still can't get it to work in FP. Has anyone had a similar problem and maybe a solution?

what video card are you using?
I know you can do this with nvidia based cards and possibly ATI. with nvidia cards it uses video overlay to detect when your playing a video and then display it on multiple screens.
Ati is the same way. It also uses overlays. I have the ati 7000. To get it working, I only enabled one monitor in windows. Double click the monnitor that you enabled and that should bring up the ATI properties. Click on "Displays" and turn on your secondary monitor by clicking the little power icon. Set one as primary and one as clone. Doesnt matter which. Then click on the "overlay" tab and select theatre settings or something like that. Then click "same on both" That works for WMP but now im not getting video in FP on either monitor.
ahh ok... I am using my onboard video of my M12k ... using the Svideo out to a 2nd screen... I never set the 2nd screen to clone in windows though
So it works for you now?
did it work? I can clone the m10k but the overlay/clone for m12k is not in the options...maybe i can find the driver that will work. Anyone done the clone on m12k video and vga?
yeah i had it working... I only have 1 screen plugged in there right now though...
I'll go through the settings and make notes next time... then I will post the steps here
great thanks :) I tried a lot of things, including outside programs such as Unltra mon, and I got to clone everything except DVD. and I played around with settings for the card, and dvd playback...but it still obeys the overlay setting (either crt or composite...not both :( ) hopeful you got dvd working :)

Thats how matrox g400 based cards do it, esp the marvel with the tuner etc.Quote:

With most nvidia chipsets they will pop up the video fullscreen on monitor2(tv out) but if you then start clicking things and opening shutting windows on monitor1(vga) then the 2nd output loses fullscreen or stops.
Just try to fullscreen/minimise/shrink/resize WMP on screen1 and see what happpens on screen2
None of that with a matrox.
