try regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mswebdvd.dll instead
Hi, I have been using Frodoplayer for a few months on my home computer and I am now just putting together the CarPC. I just got the slim slot load dvd drive in today and I hooked it up and got it working. I can watch DVDs with PowerDVD just fine, but in Frodoplayer, all I get is the controls and a black screen. I searched and found this thread:
Frodoplayer and DVDs
These guys described the exact same problem that I have and Frodo suggested to type regsvr32.exe mswebdvd.dll in a command line and that fixed it for that guy. I tried that and mine is still not working. Has anyone else ran into this and got it working? Thanks.

try regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mswebdvd.dll instead
I just tried that. It didn't work. I got the same type of message when I used the first command:
DllRegisterServer in mswebdvd.dll succeeded. with first command
DllRegisterServer in c:\windows\system32\mswebdvd.dll succeeded. with second command.
This is driving me nuts because I got FrodoPlayer working perfect on the home PC with dvd playback and now this is acting up. I also tried another dvd drive, but same problem. I didn't think that would be it because the slot load played dvds fine in powerdvd. Any other ideas?
Fixed it. It ended up being I was in resolution 1280x1024. When I changed it to 800x600, it worked fine. Thanks for the help anyways. By the way, I was using that resolution on a regular monitor because I'm still waiting on the screen to come in. So I wasn't using that res on a 7in, in case anyone was wondering why I would use that resolution.
That one worked for me!! cheers manOriginally Posted by UK_MP3Car
