New Skin in the making. need your help

Hi im just starting out with this new skin. here is what i have so far:

okay three things:

1. what should i call this?
2. what do you think?
3. anything you would like to add?

this is the first skin i am attempting so its prob gonna be a while before completed so any help would be greatly apprieciated.

okay after my first atempt, of skinning frodoplayer, i did not like how polyplayer ended up so i have dumped polyplayer. i have started a new skin SimpleSkin. if you scroll down like 5-8 posts you will see it there.

Honeycomb blue and make all the button in that same shape with a lighter color.

which shape?

round off the edges like the center square?
i didnt get around to changing the color of the buttons yet. i was think like a dark skyblue type or just transparenting it a little.

i dont like the bottom thing so i will either lower the transparency or just not do the transparency

i thought about this but the honeycomb im using isnt straight. its off centered just a bit so if i used that the buttons it would be crooked. i cant find any honeycomb patterns that are straight.

if you look at the where the honeycombs are cutoff at the left of the screen you can see what im talking about. if i can find a pattern that is straight i will try it.

Looks good to me. Keep up the work.

Be sure to test though whether the contrast is high enough. You will be pleased on the sunny days.

okay i have increased the size of the header and buttons to make it more ts friendly, made the polyplayer logo, and lowered transparency of the center square and the bottom bar. i like the name polyplayer so i used that. here is the skin as of 5/21/05

i still dont know what to do with the buttons. since the logo came out good to match with the white buttons there now i think i might work with something whitish. the header doesnt match so i might change it.

i am also thinking of doing the play, pause, stop,... buttons using the 7 hex pattern like the logo.

so what do you think so far?

Why not try to keep the white tint for the buttons and just giving it a special edge effect. Or add a thin dark blue or black line to them. That way the plain white surface is broken a little. Experiment with some blue text on top of the buttons, that could already be world of difference.
