Is that all through the skin? I was looking through it and couldn't figure out the option to turn off the OSK or do I just remove the OSK ini and such? I did a search w/ no results other than this thread.

Stupid people always click the XM thinking I have it. I know I could make a skin w/o it, but I'm lazy

You can go to setting 1\Xm radio check the little box for "external radio application" and then press browse and then cancel..... so you will have path:none.

That way if somebody press the button it will do nothing.

I don't understand the OSK part but it seen like you don't want it right? so for that you can do this in skin .ini:

KEYBOARD_LEFT=101
KEYBOARD_TOP=0
KEYBOARD_WIDTH=101
KEYBOARD_HEIGHT=0

So you can click search and have the artist, album, title box but as soon as you click one of them you will have no OSK.

Yea, I'm not worried about them actually clicking on XM, more worried they're gonna complain it's not working. I was just saying for the menu skin, have set boxes as buttons and fill them in as needed. Dynamic skins. It's easier for the skin writer and I wouldn't think it'd be too hard to program in. u would have a skin for the button and then just overlay text on it and make it change colors or whatever the skinner would like it to do.

As far as the OSK, I still want to be able to search, but I don't want it to come up on random double taps. I'm not sure if it's due to the skin or FP, but it's freaking annoying. I tap the scroll arrow a couple times and it comes up, or if I miss something a bit it comes up.

Go to settings2/misc3 / uncheck "jump enabled from main menu"

Exactly. Tapping on the screen enables "JUMP" mode. This can be turned off.
You can also add a button for jump mode.

Turning off jump mode will not disable "SEARCH" mode.

so THAT's what jump mode is. ahhhh. no wonder I couldn't find it in a search. one problem down, now all I gotta do is modify this brightlife skin to be more suitable for me. thanx for the help

You shouldn't be in the settings mode while driving !

Its off so the db can be rebuilt, amongst other things that require it.

I expect this has been asked for already...but I'd like to have multiple locations for music & video files. I have music & video on more than one drive.

Minor issue but when using an external GPS application if you tap the GPS button it will open another instance of the app. It would be nice if instead of opening another instance it would bring the focus of the currently running application back to front.
