    Frodo and Xbox

Will there be any way in the future to ba able to access an xbox from the frodoplayer front end?

I think that would be a great addition!

Unfortunately, I do not see this happening. Xbox programs are specially written to run on the xbox. However, you could always load Linux and run something like VMWare (I think that's its name) so you can run Windows programs. I don't know how well the hardware is going to play with the software and highly doubt you'll be able to get GPS and a touchscreen to work.

If you want to run an Xbox in the car and have a front-end, I suggest running Xbox Media Center and use a wireless RF xbox controller for the interface. It'll give you music, videos, and DVD with very little fuss.

XboX media center (a later version) actually has a web interface.

So if you have a web browser embedded into frodo player, yeah you can control some of it

The web interface only allows you to select music and video files to be played.

Perhaps I misunderstood the question and thought he was talking about porting it over to the xbox. What exactly would you want to access from the xbox? There are no xbox emulators out there so playing the games are out. You could always FTP into the xbox to access the files from a modded xbox but I still don't see the usefulness. Luis, what is your intent?

No No. Sorry that I wasnt clear on my idea. I want to be able to somehow connect the xbox to the computer as an input so I can choose to view my xbox throgh the front end. Kind of like watching the rear view camera by pushing the RV Cam button, only I wnat there to be a Xbox button.

What do you guys think? Is this possible?

The Xbox would have to be connected to the monitor, so switching video modes would be a function of the monitor. I'd think you could program an IR port (assuming your computer has one) to send the appropriate command via IR to the monitor.

It's possible, yes. Do I have any idea how to pull it off? No.
    Interesting idea, though.

The monitors that have automatic reverse camera use a relay that connects to the reverse somehow.. Through the backup lights, I believe. That same logic could be applied to the XBox, I suppose.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Well, if you had a RCA video in port on your video card you could run the xbox to the video-in and the sound to the line-in via a RCA to 3.5mm adapter. Then it should just me a matter of running a / the program to view the line-in.

But I heard that if I run the xbox thru a line in, from a video card, I would lose video quality.
