Song titles and artists don't show up (Sat 3)

I think this is a hardware (or OS) problem, not necessarily Frodo Player. But thought this was the most appropriate place. At any rate, I had FP working great before I had power supply problems. Ever since I've fixed them, I've had trouble with XM using Frodo's Sat 3 XM player.

    Here's some symtoms:
The channels play, but it doesn't remember last channel like it did before.
The song titles don't show up. Looks like this.
    The artist doesn't show up.
Sometimes the signal bars are missing
I believe the XM direct box isn't sending any info (Channel, Titles, Artist, Genre) to the software.
I think that if it does get the info - it's getting scrambled sometime. For example (I think it's called ASK channel - shows up as %#@Sk or similar) I'm not real sure on this symtom, it could be screwed in the channel cache ini (filename eludes me) file.

    Things I've tried:
Verified that the homemade cable tests OK (with ohm meter)
Verified that the unit is getting power (with volt meter)
I replaced the mscomctl.ocx and registered it with regsvr32

This may be the most help (for those that are still with me). Once I moved the xm channels cache ini file (forgot the name), I got nothing. After I put the file back and bingo, channels play again.

    Sorry for long post.

from that screenshot I can tell that you have no XM signal.. which is why you dont get the artists/titles to show up...

make sure you didnt blow the antenna/XM-direct somehow when your power supply went...

That's not actually my screen shot, but it shows pretty much the same thing. I always get the music or whatever. So it can't really be blown - can it?

I often get two signal bars, but not always. I believe that's normal, and similar to what I got before.

How do I make sure I didn't blow it?

there should be 3 bars total... the bottom one being the actual satellite signal.. the top 2 are for the ground repeaters.. you will need them to be fairly high to receive a decent signal..
