Yes, all that is in the FAQ section.

wow. this thread has two things wrong with it.

    1. An individual that appears to be too lazy to read up on something before asking questions.... (I've installed FP take 3 myself, not too tough if you read the FAQ)
    2. Several people that react pretty harshly to individuals who are too lazy to read up on something before asking questions....

    bad combination!

Here is my two part solution to problems of this nature:
    1. Individuals should read what they can, before asking questions... cuz more often that not, it has been asked before.
    2. Individuals who do not react well to lazy people should refrain from posting... until the calmer individuals can give their input!

Thanks, and have a great night!

I kinda know what he is looking for. Some people (myself included) would rather ask a simple question and get a simple answer sometimes, rather then spend an hour "using the search". If you have time to make 2000 posts, you obviously have enough time to answer him, or ignore him and go to another thread. These are FORUMS where people go to give and get information for free. What a waste of time and bandwidth it is to call people "noobs" and say "use the search" all the time. I have experience in lots of things, and I always take the time to share info if I have it, rather then belittle people and sound like a know-it-all *******. There is more to life then carputers and I hate people who think they are all bad *** because they know everything about one specific thing.

It's called negative reinforcement, for those who have gotten past psychology 101. We're returning negative behavior with negative responses.

When your dog ****s ont he rug, you rub his nose in it and beat him with a newspaper, letting him know that he's a bad dog.
Were rubbing the noob's nose in his **** and calling him a bad n00b. The idea is that the negative responses will motivate the n00b to behave appropriately in the future by using the search tools reading before opening his yap.

Whoever said that there are no stupid questions was only trying to make someone feel better when they asked a stupid question. There are stupid questions. A stupid question is one that is asked without any attempt at locating the answer on your own. The question becomes even more stupid when the answer is readily available and you choose not to give a cursory search for the answer. Not trying to phrase your already stupid question using proper spelling, grammar and punctuation gets you beraded, plain and simple.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

This does nothing to the dog except confuse it, and probably make it crap more.
This does nothing to the noob, and probably makes him ask more silly questions...which wasn't really silly, I agreed with him about the list of files....which freaking one????
If you've installed FP before, it's easy. But if you haven't, it seems confusing.

What? Have you ever had a dog?
That is actually a very effective way to train a dog to hold it!

Now... this kind of methodology in training n00bs is an entirely different matter. The jury is still out on that one!

Training n00bs is more like training cats.... you put the box in the room and hope that it has the sense to use it! If not, you throw the stupid cat outside!

Anyhow, yeah, I have a dog.

No, I haven't used that method. My dog's fine now. But I'll try it with my next dog. I didn't with the last dog.
