Frodo, Welcome Back! I hope your financial and/or life difficulties have settled down a bit. That kind of crap can take it's toll on anyone.

I know that FP is your baby and you have every reason to be ultra-proud of it. It's very evident that your's is one of, if not, the favorite FE ever introduced here. I think there are a lot of us that would like to see you entertain the idea of going open source with it. I think if you did, because of it's initial brilliant original design, we could help tweak it and add to it and make it basically the KING DOG FE in the neighborhood. Then there will be NO competition anyway....

Anyway all joking aside, I'm sure you probably don't want to see it perverted or taken out of context for it's original intent. And of course there are the snakes that will want to steal it and sell it.

So, it's not a perfect idea by any stretch of the imagination. Please just consider the idea, (if you haven't already).

That is what the GPL license (among other things) was made to prevent..
He can still have control on the project:
He can open a site on sourceforge and add additional developers to the project as he likes.
Of course, one can create a "mod" from it, but because of it is GPL , he must also release the source code under the GPL.

The time between coming here to see if you returned went from every day to every few weeks but it looks like it paid off.

I'm entertaining the idea of releasing a stripped down version of the 1.x source and not maintain it. IE, the users would maintain it, etc. I will also fix some bugs and maintain my own variant of 1.x

The code for 2.x will need some major look over before I get to that part.

glad to see your interested again somewhat

frodoplayer is lightning fast and i enjoy that it uses media player. but after about 15 months of using frodoplayer and thinking about how roadrunner is being updated (frodoplayers forum's 1st page has posts dating back 4 months, RR's forum's 1st page has posts dating back 6 days) and has some cool features (flash) i made the switch. i wasnt ever completely happy with the skins i had for frodoplayer but i am using a skin for RR called digital fx (Digital FX 2.0 Transparent Released) and i love it. sorry to say but i wish i had been using it since day 1. commands have a small lag time but the command you have over everything is outstanding.
