Hmm, I don't think there is such a thing as the "worst" question!
To answer you question, the first version of the eyeR interceptor was basically to intercept/control the fusion brain outputs while the PC/fusionbrain was off.
for example, say one of you FB outputs was connected to a relay and suddenly your PC shutsdown or wont boot up! How can you control this relay with the FB not working? (since it requires the PC to be on for it to function) If you connect one of the eyeR inputs/outputs in series with this connection, you will be able to take control of this relay again with the use of an IR remote or any RS232 interface, since the eyeR does not need a constant PC connection in order to function.
This system can come in very handy for a complete HVAC system which needs to be controlled when the PC fails (say to demist the windows).
Though, initially the first version (FB piggy-back) was specifically designed for HVAC systems, the next model has a host of new features/capabilities such as more dedicated PWM and servo outputs, intercept only mode, direct 2-15v inputs (no need for bias resistors) and a drive-wire bus system which allows countless add-ons to be added.
What are these add-ons?
Well, I don't want to reveal all of them just yet but the one i'm working on now is the RF Transmitter which allows you to have wireless control of mains and 12v devices directly through the FB/eyeR. Just imagine a RF universal remote!

The "blue" version (eyeR Mini) was tested and I decided to add a 3 port hub for the add-ons and made a few little hardware changes.
The new version (now black!!.. i know) is a bit bigger and board has been modified for an enclosure. I actually just received the black (final) boards today but still waiting on some back order components.
The two custom IR remote controls have already been produced and now just working on a VB app to configure the device.
So there is still a few weeks before release, though I might have to release a limited amount of units before then for a test release and then update firmware as required.

Thanks for the update. Do you have any documentation ready on the new board? I am very interested to see if I can use the built-in climate program with my cars climate system.

No complete documentation at the moment. Though if you can share a pic and a some info on how your climate works, eg cable driven, electronic or pneumatic. Then maybe I could help.
Any further updates on availability or documentation? I bought a spare climate control head to do some testing.

I have nearly finished a setup program in VB to help configure and test the eyeR and should be available for download shortly. As for the documentation.. its not complete yet though the VB app has a climate/HVAC simulator which should get you started.
P.S. What vehicle is your climate from?
I have a Porsche 928. I would like to use the stock loation of the HVAC controller for my screen - so a product that can simulate button selection without the PC on is exactly what i need.

So I take it that you just want to relocate and hide your factory climate and use the eyeR in conjuction with the remote to control it. If this is the case (providing the climate is fully electronic) this can be easilly done. The only small issue that I can see is making sure your factory climate settings and pc are corectly syncronized. In most cases this shouldn't be that difficult.
