Ok, this being the first revision, there are some goofs. Nothing very important, but "quirks". Below is a list of all the known bugs, goofs, and quirks, and what we are doing, have done, or will do.
Output Pins do not match [HL]KNOWN AND FIXED ON VERSION 4[/HL]
This was an error in PCB layout where the outputs are just not in the correct order. The LED's are, in the correct sequence however. This is no way degrades the basic functionality of the unit. The errors are all superficial.
For the Digital Outputs: [HL]KNOWN AND FIXED ON VERSION 4[/HL]
For the Analogue Inputs: [HL]FIXED[/HL]
Accelerometers don't work well or at all: [HL]FIXED[/HL]
This is due to a miscommunication with our manufacturer, and they installed a 3.3volt part when we wanted a 5 volt part. We will offer cables that have integrated voltage regulators. As of now, DO NOT CONNECT YOUR ACCELEROMETER TO THE FUSION BRAIN. You can either wait for us to assemble an mail you a cable with a built in voltage regulator, or you can contact us, and we will provide you with part numbers for popular websites and stores where you can buy this small component and fix the problem yourself. It is an easy job, and required 3 solder points. We will be providing cables at no cost, but if you need this right away, we can help you expedite it.
Analogue #0 does not work correctly [HL]FIXED[/HL]
FIXED AS OF JULY 7th 2007
This is currently a firmware problem. In our haste to fill pre-orders, we failed to find a flaw in the current firmware that prevents Analogue #0 from being read. The good news is that it is a firmware problem (
software for the microprocessor), and not a
hardware problem. That means we can reflash or reprogram the big black chip on the board, and as soon as it is pushed back in, it will work correctly. We are currently fixing the firmware, and we will provide an upgrade program for free. There will be 2 options. Option #1, is that you PayPal us $9 as a holding fee, and we will immediately ship you out a new chip. Replace your current chip with the new one, and mail us back the old chip in the prepaid return envelope, and as soon as we receive the chip, we will refund you the entire $9. Option #2, is that you send us back the chip, and once we receive it, we will send you a new chip. This will render your Fusion Brain useless until the new chip arrives, but does not require a $9 holding fee.
When a sensor is connected, unused ports show activity as well [HL]NOT A PROBLEM[/HL]
The solution to this is to just put a jumper from Ground to the Voltage Input on the unused inputs. In the software however, if you are not using an input, do not configure it in the skin setting.
