    I'm not sure if this was directed at me, but here is my answer if it is.
    Device ID is: USB\VID_04D8&PID_000C\4&338F3FFA&0&2
    I did just get the brain, probably about 2 weeks ago.

    For those having troubles with the drivers, I guess some versions of XP like to see "[ClassInstall32]" in the driver and I did not put it in there.

    So if it fails to install, open the driver in Notepad. Then right before the string declarations, add a line called "[ClassInstall32]". That should be the only thing on the line. Save and try to reinstall.

    Any ideas for "USB Device Not Recognized" - Unknown Device? My computers don't even want to look for a driver for it.

    you said you got it a while ago. Have you ever used it at any point, or is this the first time you've gotten to play with it?

    Are you providing 12 volts to the board? Is the blue LED lighting up?

    12V regulated is being applied, the blue light is shining blue. Yeah, this is the first chance I've taken to open it up and plug it in.

    Can you check the VID/PID for it? I'm not sure where it is in Vista, but in XP its in Control Panel/System/Device Manager/the device/Details

    It just says unknown device there, I looked there for it, like in the picture. I dont have a screenshot for it, since I'm at work.
    Since it's an early model maybe I'll just send it in with the 50$ deposit, I never did get that reprogrammed chip. Then I can keep focused on my skin, and you guys can troubleshoot it if you want. Sound good?

    @ Herk: I have a similar problem, and partly fixed - when I first connected it to Vista Ultimate, I got the same screen as you did.

    I disconnected from the fronpanel USB, and connected it to one of the rear USB ports. Now, Vista pics it up as a Fusion Brian, but still cannot load the drivers for it.

    So, I will keep playing - my Device Instance Path is showing USB\VID_04D8&PID_000C\5&FF9BDDE&0&1

    Ok, sometimes it helps to read the Readme file.

    @ Herk - go to the first page of this thread, there is a readme file. Another thing, navigate to Fusion Software Page, and scroll dothen download the drivers package "Hardware Driver Only V2.0"

    That should at least get the hardware going - I will report back in a sec or 5.

    @ Herk: Ok, download the package in the link I posted 1 post up, provided you have the latest Control Center, you only ned to download Hardware Drivers V2.0.

    Then, extract it somewhere after d/load - navigate to the root of the extracted folder, and locate the "Fusion Brian.inf" file - open it with notepad, and navigate to the bottom, and include this :

    [ClassInstall32]

    immediately before the following section:

    ; ==================== Strings =====================
    [Strings]
    ProviderName = "Nicholas Vergunst & Tim Elmore"
    USB\MyDevice.DeviceDesc="Fusion Brain"
    MediaDescription = "Fusion Driver Disks"
    WinUSB_SvcDesc = "Fusion Brain though the Evil WinUSB Drivers"

    So, all in all, it must look like this (of course there's a lot of stuff above this portion, this is just to show where it must go):

    [ClassInstall32]

    ; ==================== Strings =====================
    [Strings]
    ProviderName = "Nicholas Vergunst & Tim Elmore"
    USB\MyDevice.DeviceDesc="Fusion Brain"
    MediaDescription = "Fusion Driver Disks"
    WinUSB_SvcDesc = "Fusion Brain though the Evil WinUSB Drivers"

    Now, go and follow your standard procedure to update the driver in Vista, andit will find the device ok

    Have fun, let us know if it works - mine is fine now.
