One brand new MSI Fuzzy 945GM1 mITX with a T5600 processor on it's way to save the day. I hope to never buy a AMD board/laptop again.
And yes, I blame AMD/nvidia for not being compatible with the Fusion Brain (if, in fact, what I'm seeing is generally true and not just my bad luck). They should have known.

I can get both brains in device manager with no code10 exceptions. Sometimes I get a code 10, but restarting fixes it usually. That's different then the AMD's I couldn't get my old brain to show up on those ever. I'm pretty sure I need to send that one back (I know I've said that like 10 times, but I mean it now. I just had hopes it would work. And maybe there's good info to be found in that it shows up on the 945GM and not the other three.
They both took the drivers right away, I had to add the [ClassInstall32] statement at the end of the driver though. The new brain gave me a code 10 at first, and infrequently thereafter. Most of the time both devices are 'working properly'.
Neither brain reacted to commands from FCC Uber 12-15-07. Neither brain showed communication data on the raw debug console on FCC (version 2).
I'm not sure if something didn't go terribly wrong when I had them testing on the AMD computers.

EDIT: When I plug the older brain in, the lights turn on right away, usually

    hmm...

did you edit the skin file to include the USB string?

all lights on on powerup was a firmware problem. we fixed it and would be happy to offer a new PIC free of charge.

You know I thought about putting that I did that(usb string), but I was tired and I thought that was pretty obvious. I did, and I triple checked it. It's acting exactly like it did when I did miss changing that string a while back. I wasn't very torough in recording my steps, mainly because I thought it would be a slam dunk. This time around I'll track things pretty thoroughly, it may help me find what I'm missing before I post it even.

I'm going to try again now that I'm well rested. I'll keep a thorough log. I hope it's something simple that I missed.

ok. upload the skin file. If device manager recognizes and likes the brain, you should be good to go. touch the analog inputs, see if that shows up on the software

Ok, I had my brain hooked up to several sensors for the initial test. While unplugging the brain, on one of my trials, I inadvertantly removed the ground side of the power cord prior to power. I dont think this should have been the end of the world, but I noticed something funny happened. The blue power light stayed on. I figured it has some unintended path through an input or output somehow. and since all of my relays are off, I'm thinking an input. I removed all of the sensors and relays (8 relays on the outer two header groups) (dial pot on A1, thermometers on A0,A2-A5). Then plugged back in, and the brain was recognized and Uber controls the output lights as it should. A bittersweet victory indeed. My fears were likely well founded. Now to find the offending input/ouput.
