Thermometer values WAY too low. Maybe displaying voltages?

First off i should say that i'm using the default skin which i just added 2 analogue inputs to test it. The .skin file shows:

    Code:
    #STARTNEW#
      #NAME#Temp1
      #TYPE#TEMPERATURE
      #SETTINGS#FAHRENHEIT
      #DECIMALS#1
      #VIDPID#USB\VID_04D8&PID_000C\6&42FFB0A&0&3
      #SIZE#105,94
      #LOCATION#21,0
      #SHOWTEXT#true
      #TXTCOLOUR#LightGray
      #PAGE#0
      #PORT#8
      #BORDERSIZE#0
      #PLOTLENGTH#100
    #ENDNEW#
    #STARTNEW#
      #NAME#Temp2
      #TYPE#TEMPERATURE
      #SETTINGS#FAHRENHEIT
      #DECIMALS#1
      #VIDPID#USB\VID_04D8&PID_000C\6&42FFB0A&0&3
      #SIZE#105,94
      #LOCATION#300,0
      #SHOWTEXT#true
      #TXTCOLOUR#LightGray
      #PAGE#0
      #PORT#9
      #BORDERSIZE#0
      #PLOTLENGTH#100
    #ENDNEW#
The values shown for both temp sensors are way to low.. sticking around 0.9 and 1.1. See screenshot:

Now i'll be honest trying to configure for this thing is like reading a different language.. there are like 20 downloads on the software page and i have no idea if i'm using the right version for my FB. I downloaded the 2.0 version then followed the tutorial instructions on how to install the hardware driver and check my instance information. Something else that is odd is that i cant use the skin designer.. it can find my instance information, but if i click start blinking the program freezes. If i hit "Send Back Selected Brain" it allows me to advance but i cant add an analogue input without it crashing. So fellas where should i start?

It's not broken, it's reading voltages.

Nick will be along shortly to help!

If you're using v2.x software, the settings section for temperature needs to look like this:
    Code:
      #TYPE#TEMPERATURE
      #SUFFIX#F
      #PREFIX#
      #SETTINGS#((((($t$ - .4) * 1000) / 19.53) * 1.8) + 32)|t=VINC[!]
    Hope this helps.

    Beat me to it!

Basically right now there is Version 2 (latest download on the website) and then there is MDX. MDX is what we will be exclusively supporting. I have been working my tail off trying to get the configurator finished. I dont want to put it up on the website until it is completely finished, as we have people who buy them who dont want to use it without a config program.

To me version 2 makes sense, but I programmed it! So what I have done in version MDX is make it XML based so everyone can read it, and it is more forgiving in placement of code. Also I have seperated the logical portion of the program from the graphical part of the program completely.

In Version 2, you can have analogue values switch an output based on a value but only 1 per analogue instance. You need to create multiple dummy instances to get various outputs to switch based on the input.

In MDX, you just need to create an alaogue input in the <io></io> section, and then some if this then that type statements in the <logic></logic> section and done.

It is much more powerful. Also MDX will be the only version to support COM objects which are coming out very soon. I had a breakthrough yesterday with this.

So if you are just setting it up now, you can use Version 2 because it is 100% functional, but I highly recommend using version MDX as once MDX is fully released we will be phasing out all documentation (well what exists ) for Version 2, and pushing MDX. Of course it is free as always, not some sort of pay for software, so it makes sense to upgrade.

Here is where you can how to install and get MDX version: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/docu...rsion-mdx.html

And the config should be done this week I hope. I have it like 90% complete minus the help which is coming as fast as I can. There aren't enough hours in the day!

THe best way is to put it somewhere where you know the temperature, and then at the end of that equation add or subtract a little bit until it reads perfect. This will pair that sensor correctly.

It looks like the MDX software is much much more powerful than the regular FCC one. Hopefully when its complete you guys will post some tutorials on how to program some stuff like the digital outputs, analog inputs, and what not..

It is much more powerful. Also much more robust, and lighter on the CPU. It uses DirectX to draw instead of GDI+.

The main program that actually controls the brain is done and has been done since late January I believe. The part that is unfinished is the configurator which I am working on right now.

If you need help with setting up MDX, make a thread in the software section so everyone can see and we can start building a help database. If you have a question about it chances are someone else does too. I try to answer all posts as I see them. I get an email about new threads at 10pm MST so I usually answer new ones then.
