Right now I'm working with the Microchip PICkit Serial Analyzer and the MCP4725 EV Board for analog voltage out. I'm still new at this stuff, but it seemed to me using I2C could simplify producing adjustable analog voltages with the proper DAC device. In the end I hoped to use the FB as a master to incorporate it into a CarPC and control HVAC functions.

Honestly, with my limited knowledge on this stuff, I may be going down the wrong path, but I guess you could say live and learn.

If you're just controlling motors, such as the fan motor, PWM is much better (more efficient), and is already a feature on Version 4.

My goal would be to just mimic HVAC controls, so just replacing the input of the rotary pot to the HVAC control head with the adjustable voltage from the FB over I2C using a DAC. I agree PWM for the fan and door motors the way to go. I was trying to avoid using up all (or most of) the FB outputs creating an array of resistors just to achieve specific voltage outputs.

I don't want to hi jack this thread on the introduction of the new Fusion Brain, but if I'm making sense on what I'm trying to achieve here and/or you have a better solution please feel free to PM. The more I can learn the better.

You could do PWM and a low pass filter, would work particularly well if you used an analog input for feedback.

I2C is a few months off, and will probably be limited to chips we test with... but Version 4 will support it.

You might want to update your .sig then...

    Edit:

    From the product page:

Sensors can be connected to any one of the 10 analogue inputs for readings varying from Temperature to Distance to the amount of Light present.

Relays or LEDs can be connected directly to any of the board's 12 digital outputs header pins allowing for easy installation.
    Shouldn't that be 13 and 16 respectively?
